Trump administration commits up to $42M to revive stalled Northeast natural gas pipeline

The Trump administration is putting up to $42 million in federal funding behind efforts to revive a long-stalled natural gas pipeline connecting Pennsylvania's Marcellus Shale with energy markets in New York and the Northeast.

The Department of Energy announced Monday that the funding, provided under Title III of the Defense Production Act, will support permitting and pre-construction work on the proposed Constitution Pipeline as the administration seeks to expand energy infrastructure and lower regional energy costs.

Energy Secretary Chris Wright told FOX Business on Monday that the funding would help advance environmental and permitting work needed before construction can begin.

"The answer to high prices is more supply to push prices down," Wright said. "The answer to get to the ragged edge of blackouts is more electric generation, more energy for home heating as well."

Thank you very much and God bless you.

The blockade has been an Andrew Cuomo idea to help push the Obama Era's wind and solar mantra.

Western New York has as much gas and oil as Pennsylvania. Force those New York buggers to use their own resouces.

It won’t help him win any New England votes. I don’t get it. Perhaps it’s showing those weenies who’s boss. Good for effect.

In fact, the term Marcellus Shale refers to a formation in New York, not Pennsylvania or West Virginia. Governor Hochul, who is from Buffalo, opposes fracking despite the fact it would benefit her home region. Most of the state of New York that is beyond a two hour drive or train ride from midtown Manhattan is an economic wasteland, a Yankee Appalachia.

Well, not quite as much but the Marcellus does cross the state line near Elmira.

The outcrop where the Marcellus Shale was first named is in New York but more of it lies under Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia.

NO,no,no. This pipeline project has been dead for over ten years. Not even one shovel of earth has been moved.

For only $42M, you get low-budget performance politics, and you are a star player, paying for it and getting screwed.
And if you know the right people, you could get a temporary government job as a coat holder.
They have to borrow the $42M, and you pay interest until the twelfth of Never; and that is a long time.
