President Donald Trump has declared that major progress is being made toward ending the war between Russia and Ukraine, while launching a blistering attack on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for targeting Russian oil facilities and sending shockwaves through global diesel markets.
In a Truth Social tirade on Sunday afternoon, Trump insisted he was making headway in negotiations to end the four-and-a-half-year conflict, claiming a breakthrough could be jeopardized by fresh sanctions against Moscow.
But the president reserved his fiercest criticism for Zelensky, accusing the Ukrainian leader of prolonging the bloodshed while devastating energy markets and hurting American farmers, ranchers and businesses.
'I am in the process of negotiating Peace in the war between Russia and Ukraine, and don’t want to do anything that will drive, foolishly, Russia away from the bargaining table,' Trump wrote.
'Great progress is being made, and that includes current hostage negotiations!'
His dramatic intervention came as Ukraine unleashed one of its largest drone offensives of the war, sending more than 1,000 drones toward Russian territory and setting oil infrastructure ablaze in St. Petersburg.
Trump's comments also offered his most forceful defense yet of his decision on Friday to block the immediate implementation of new sanctions against Russia, a move that has attracted bipartisan criticism.
'My decision on Russia is a very simple one,' he declared, insisting that further economic pressure risked driving Vladimir Putin away from peace negotiations.
'Signing that document at this time will do that, and I can sign it later, or any time that I want!'

I would not have supported buying anything from Russia because of their unjustified agression against a Eueopean nation. That’s always been my stance until I realised (many many months ago) that while we fund Ukraine to fight Russia, Europe has been funding Russia’s war against Ukraine. Europe has spent more on Russian energy during this war than they spent on Ukraine to defend themselves. That’s where I draw the line.
Furthermore, Europe has since turned their backs on the United States of America. I say pull em out and defend the Americas from Europe and begin VISA requirements for Canada and Europe.
Both Ukraine and Russia are doing the bombing.
And it’s making waves all over, incluuding in my neighborhood in Spokane, which is loaded with Ukrainians who may ir not bit be nice people. Fortunately, my closest nUkraine neighbors are pleasant, learning English, plant lovely flowers, and drive me to the Vet since I don’t see well enough to drive any more.
Some of the Ukes are asswipes including the one who stole my hose.
Somehow life goes on, .which is more than we can say for Russians and Ukes dropping ibombs.

The only evil was that the EU had turned the Ukraine into the largest money laundering, drug dealing, human trafficking operation in the world. Run by a bunch of self styled Nazis. The Mexican cartels paled in comparison.
The rightfully elected President of the Ukraine was overthrown by the EU and Zelensky ended up as their installed puppet. He’s totally corrupted and reports to Brussels.

Donald Trump is in the midst of realigning the entire world so it will be a better more peaceful place and whether you like it or not Russia is going to be brought into the western fold. This Ukraine war is being prolonged by the EU for their own nefarious reasons. It needs to end. The Ukraine will emerge largely intact minus the Donbas and Donesk regions. That’s just the way life works.
After this war is over you and the rest of the Seekers will never think about the Ukraine again just like you never thought about it before the conflict started.
The final straw for Putin was the NATO military base 36 miles from the Russian border and the 30+ bio labs spread around the Ukraine doing God knows what.
