Mayoral election result from 2025 overturned after 37 disputed ballots are finally counted

The mayor of Hamtramck, Michigan, will apparently have to leave office after revised election results gave his opponent a 12-vote lead.

Nearly a year after voters cast their ballots in a local mayoral election, a new candidate has taken the lead after 37 disputed ballots were finally counted.

Adam Alharbi became the mayor of Hamtramck, a Detroit suburb of about 28,000, after last year’s election results showed him defeating Muhith Mahmood by just 11 votes. But those results did not include 37 absentee ballots that were mistakenly excluded from the initial count.

Now, after a prolonged court battle, those ballots have been counted and it appears Alharbi will have to leave office — although he says he will contest the new result. He is also challenging if Mahmood can hold office at all, alleging his opponent doesn’t live in city limits.

The new count, conducted at a meeting of the Wayne County Board of Canvassers on Friday, shows that Mahmood won 2,089 votes while Alharbi won 2,077. One of the 37 questioned ballots was for a write-in mayoral candidate.

Thank you very much and God bless you.

Either way, the city will have a Muslim mayor.

Bangladeshi mayor. Yemini mayor. No American mayor.

“Cheers erupted during the meeting when Mahmood, who it is believed would be the city’s first Bangladeshi mayor (Hamtramck has a significant Bangladeshi population), was named the unofficial winner.

“It’s not about the winning and fighting for the win,” Mahmood told the canvassers, thanking the board for its work. “It’s about the democracy in this country and voter rights.”

He encouraged Alharbi, who is a member of Hamtramck’s large Yemeni American community, to work with him to unify the city.”

This is a case of uncounted ballots, not a case where fraud occurred, in case anyone thinks it’s a precedent for reversing an election outcome.

“It’s not about the winning and fighting for the win,” Mahmood told the canvassers.

We all know that.

What it's really about is turning America into another third world muslim toilet.

What is their respective Islamic affiliation? Both Sunni? One Sunni and the other Shiite? Any Alawites or Suffis?

Oh I bet there was fraud somewhere in that election. After all, it IS Michigan.

It’s what you call a Hobson’s Choice: one where both choices are bad.

When I was younger the City of Hamtramck was populated by mostly Polish people. If anyone wants to question how fast a place can be overrun and its population replaced then look at this city.

From The Polish in Hamtramck, Michigan:

They called it Little Warsaw. Two square miles of brick storefronts and frame houses inside Detroit, with a Gothic spire rising two hundred feet above the smokestacks. From the 1910s through the 1970s, if you got off the Joseph Campau bus and walked north, you were in Poland. The bakeries sold pączki on the Tuesday before Lent. The butcher shops hung kielbasa from steel hooks. By the 1930 census, eighty-three percent of Hamtramck was Polish.

The village was named for Jean François Hamtramck, a French Canadian colonel who served under George Washington.

By the 1930s and 1940s, Hamtramck was the most concentrated Polish-American community in the United States. The city had its own Polish-language newspapers and its own Polish-language radio stations. Mass at St. Florian was said in Polish. So was business at the bakery, the meat market, and the corner bar.

On September 19, 1987, Pope John Paul II rode his popemobile down Joseph Campau Avenue. He had been the Archbishop of Kraków before he became Pope, and Hamtramck was, for one day, the Polish capital of America again. The crowds began gathering at dawn.

((Then Dodge Main auto plant closed in 1990 as the American car industry fell to the foreign car sales surge. People moved into Macomb County.))

By the 1990s, new arrivals were filling the houses the Poles had left behind, first Bangladeshi families, then Yemeni families, then refugees from the Bosnian war. In 2013 Hamtramck became the first majority-Muslim city in the United States, and in 2015 the first city to elect a majority-Muslim council. The mosques now share Joseph Campau with the bakeries, and the call to prayer mixes with the church bells.

Adam Alharbi and/or Muhith Mahmood. No one is a winner; both are losers.

“ This is a case of uncounted ballots, not a case where fraud occurred…”

And it took them almost a year to count 37 votes?

It’s amazing that Muslims can come here and in a few years be elected to a political office. They can go from a “nobody” to a council member, then mayor, and then Senator in a very short time. Much like Obama did. Most of us had never heard of him before he suddenly was thrust into the limelight and presented as the only possible choice to be the Democrat Presidential candidate of the U.S.

I’m sure installing Muslims with no cultural connections or loyalty to our country is a deliberate plot by the left to further destabilize our nation.

I would say that the main reason this rapid escalation to civic power happens is because most Muslims still think and act as one force. This group is severely Hive Minded, even those now settled in our country. Not all, thank God, but far too many. Blacks still are to some degree, but not nearly as was the case some 50 years ago.
