Zelensky's ask: 300 Patriot missiles, 70 billion euros, and Russian assets

President Volodymyr Zelensky used his appearance at the Oct. 16 summit of EU leaders in Brussels to list the main things Kyiv needs to survive the winter and beyond, but those asks won't come cheap.

"I am grateful for your support for Ukraine," Zelensky told EU leaders.

"Without a determined European Union capable of making strong decisions Putin would have gone much further by now," Zelensky said.

But with Russia ramping up its use of ballistic missiles and jet-powered Shahed drones to pummel Kyiv, and the U.S. taking steps to undermine Russia sanctions and Ukrainian security, Zelensky also came to the bloc with new requests for help.

I hope Trump blaming this tiny tyrant for our diesel woes is prelude to our long overdue exit from this colossal waste of our resources.

You can have some mineral rights. In fact, they will bury you in a lime pit.

Words fail.

300 Patriots and 70 Billion Euros to keep the war rolling and the death count rising with no hope of success.

There are simply not enough spare Patriots in the world to provide 300 to Ukraine

We have already provided Ukraine with around 600 Patriot missiles out of an inventory of 2300 before the Ukraine war.

I am a bit perplexed on all of this.

President Trump's opponents are bashing the administration spending about 38 billion dollars to finally remove the Islamic State government from Iran and the fact that the US has used up about 800 Patriot missiles against Iran

Yet these critics are the same ones who enthusiastically supported the US transfer of around 300 billion US dollars to Ukraine and who are now demanding another 70 billion euros (just under 80 billion dollars) be sent to Ukraine and are perfectly happy that Biden supplied 600 Patriot missiles to Ukraine and are pushing for the US to send hundreds more.

On one hand we have the war in Iran which must end immediately before the IRGC is defeated and removed from power and on the other hand we have the stalemate in Ukraine which must never be allowed to end Zelensky is sending the message to the world that he critically needs 300 new Patriots and 70 billion euros to survive the winter war with Russia.

This is not going to happen and so Ukraine will not be able to defend itself, which is sending another critical message to the world.

It's time to end this senseless war before Ukraine can no longer defend itself - which is only a matter of time at this rate.

Zelensky's ill advised attacks on Russian oil and diesel fuel assets is crippling the EU economies which is going dry up cash and military assets like Patriots to send to Ukraine.

Every Russian refinery and pipeline the Ukraine destroys spikes the price of fuel and oil in the EU which weakens the EU's ability to support Ukraine while dramatically increasing Russia's oil and gas revenues and strengthening Russia's ability to continue to fight the war in Ukraine.

Kind of puts the lie to a lot of the BS over the last four years, imho.

I'm beginning to wonder if at some level the US elements embroiling us in that conflict to some extent have been neutralized. The deaths of McCain and Graham were big blows on the legislative side, but its those in the IC community I wonder about. Makes me wonder if there is a silent war under way between factions.

Hee hee. Makes sense. He might have to buy Fort Knox, too. There might not even be any gold there anyway.
