A White House official on Friday told The Epoch Times that new White House press secretary Katie Zacharia has left her position about a week after she was named. The White House also shared an X post from a Fox News reporter saying she is transitioning away from the position. President Donald Trump on Friday said he offered Zacharia the option to reconsider taking the job after she was “treated very badly” in the media. “I said to Katie just two minutes ago: ‘You don’t have to do this,’” he told reporters at the White House on Friday.

To be fair, she didn’t have it.
No. Read the article you posted.
“President Donald Trump on Friday said he offered Zacharia the option to reconsider taking the job after she was “treated very badly” in the media.”
What blatant incompetence?
If you’re gonna fail, you might as well do it quickly, get it over with, and move on.
Over a half century ago, I took a job selling sets of cookware door to door. I lasted two weeks, and that was one week too many. Zacharias, I feel ya (figuratively speaking of course).
Take this job and shove it.
TOTALJERK.
Of all White House positions, the one she was hired for shouldn’t be subject to a veto from the media.
Awwwwweee I liked her
She should have spent a month with Karoline prepping her for the job.
I like how they did not make a long drawn out drama of it.
Decisive -tried it, it didn’t work out - ok than.
NO BAD FEELINGS all around.
I like how Trump put it - “if you don’t feel up to it, that’s ok. if I were you I would reconsider.” When the boss tells you that, it means he likes you but you should reconsider.
I knew she wouldn’t last but I didn’t expect the end to come so quickly.
It can’t be a very desirable job
Yes, it will put you in the public eye for national politics. But beyond that, its probably long hours, a lot of pressure, and dealing with heaps of political nonsense from factions inside the White House.
It’s not a veto but the media.
I saw her entire press-conference, it was an absolute catastrophe.
Trump can’t keep such incompetence close to him, especially not right before the midterms. So… he sacked her.
Easy to understand.
You believe that? Since when are press secretaries NOT treated badly?
My math says .45 Scaramuccis.

Poor thing. I felt really sorry for her at her first press conference, and it was clear that she did not have the gravitas to carry off this high profile position in a hostile environment. The only comments I saw about her were those that I’ve seen here on FR, and they were brutal and sometimes even unnecessarily cruel. Not everyone is a good fit for every job, and the best thing is to learn from the experience and move on. I wish her the best of luck.
Feel kinda bad for her.
But you’re right. The U.S. prexy needs top shelf help, working at the top of their game, 24/7.
Karoline Leavitt was so, so good at the gig. Trump was lucky to have had her at all, much less for as long as he did.
Press Secretary Dana Perino was hit in the face by a metal microphone boom when two shoes were thrown at GW Bush by a Muslim in a press conference when Bush ducked. She was in pain and ended up with a black eye.
During a 14 December 2008 press conference at the prime minister’s palace in Baghdad, Iraq, Iraqi journalist Muntadhar al-Zaidi threw both of his shoes at United States president George W. Bush. Bush was scheduled to leave office roughly five weeks later, following the inauguration of his successor Barack Obama. As he threw his first shoe, al-Zaidi yelled “This is a farewell kiss from the Iraqi people, dog”, in Arabic. As he threw the second, he yelled “This is for the widows and the orphans and all those murdered in Iraq”. Bush ducked twice, successfully avoiding both shoes, and Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki attempted to catch one of the shoes to protect him. Al-Zaidi was pulled to the floor by Blackwater security guards before being grabbed by Maliki’s guards, kicked, and rushed out of the room. White House Press Secretary Dana Perino was hit in the face by a microphone boom knocked over by a presidential bodyguard, resulting in a black eye.
Let’s remember to hate the enemies.—Me.
That said, if she were a DEI hire, there is no way she would have been fired and the media would be demanding we have patience with her.
