46 Per Cent of Muslims Would Want to Leave France if Marine Le Pen Elected President: Report

Nearly half of all Muslims in France say they would think about going into exile if sovereigntist candidate Marine Le Pen is elected President next year, with a massive one in five followers of Islam saying they would definitely leave the country.

French news magazine Marianne has published the findings of large sample polling conducted for them by Ifop that suggests a large proportion of the country would simply refuse to keep living peacefully in France if their preferred candidates don’t prevail in the April 2027 Presidential Elections. Some 46 per cent of Muslims in the 9,600 respondent poll — a large sample for European polls — said they would consider “leaving France to settle in another country”.

Because the French government is officially secular its collection of data on matters like faith and ethnicity among the population can be patchy, but according to recent estimates adherents of the Muslim faith make up around ten per cent of all people in France. With around 70 million permanent residents, this could mean three-and-a-half million people responding to the election by considering going abroad.

This would be great news if it would actually happen (though it would be even better if the remaining 54% would follow this example), but as you say, it's all bluff.

Do you remember all of the "progressives" who promised to leave the US for leftier climes if Trump was re-elected? Well, Trump was re-elected, and 99%+ of them are still here. It will be the same with French Muslims, the only way for France to be rid of any of them is to deport them.

Correct. Inertia is a powerful force. Also, people sometimes answers these types of polls that way simply to express dissatisfaction, without any real intent to act.

Ihave seen way too many polls showing people wanting to "leave NY", "leave the U.S." etc that never came to anything.

Well, the UK does offer generous benefits to illegal invaders. And it’s only a short trip across the Channel.

And here’s an added bonus. If Le Pen wins, French Muslims could ask the UK for political asylum. That would be a weak claim, at best. But Labour would be happy to oblige anyway.

You’re not wrong. I live in an old rust-belt town. Nothing really here to attract immigrants. Five years ago I never saw a single Muslim.

Now I see them almost daily. That includes women in burkas, with small children trailing behind. And halal food store just open about a mile from me.

It’s the exact opposite of what I would have predicted after 9/11. What’s going on here is beyond my comprehension. But I do know that bad times are ahead.
