New York City Council is expected to outlaw horse-drawn carriages starting in June 2028, a ban that also has the support of the mayor.
The legislation follows the death of a teenager who fell off a horse-drawn carriage in Central Park this year, and ongoing concerns about inhumane treatment of the horses.

Better outlaw college parties, couches and windows not to mention automobiles and trucks😎
People have been known to die in auto accidents.
Better ban all cars, trucks and motorcycles in New York Shitty.
Although rare, planes have been known to crash.
Better close JFK International and La Guardia airports.
Newark-Liberty International, too.
Idiots.
168 years, per AI.
Wow, no more free apples.
How many millions has socialism, communism and Islam killed over the years? Let’s ban these too!
This isn’t anything new:
“ Former New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio pushed a policy to completely ban or phase out horse-drawn carriages from New York City, claiming the industry was cruel to animals and unsafe in traffic.
Key Details of the Policy
• Campaign Promise: During his 2013 election campaign, de Blasio vowed to ban the horse carriage industry “on day one” in office, backed by animal-rights groups like NYCLASS.
• Proposed Legislation (2014–2016): In December 2014, his administration introduced a bill to make operating a horse-drawn carriage unlawful by June 1, 2016.
• Driver Alternatives: The plan offered displaced carriage drivers job training and special taxi license fee waivers, while proposing to replace some operations with antique-style electric cars.
• Compromise Attempts: After facing heavy political pushback, a revised 2015/2016 proposal briefly attempted to restrict and reduce the number of horses (cutting them down from over 220 to around 70) and confine them strictly to Central Park.
• Collapse and Resistance: The legislation ultimately collapsed in the City Council in February 2016 after the Teamsters union and carriage operators strongly opposed it over lost jobs.
• Late-Term Push (2021): Just before leaving office in November 2021, de Blasio made a final, unsuccessful attempt to revive a plan to ban the carriages and replace them with electric show cars.
Would you like to know more about how the carriage industry is currently regulated in New York City or the arguments from the union and animal rights groups?”
There’s money in the real estate here the horses are housed.
Horses have been moving people around the NYC area since way before George Washington rode around. Three people died in taxi cabs just last year.
Ban taxis! Better yet….ban vehicles that carry the city council and mayor around.
How about outlawing subway trains because some idiots subway surf and get themselves killed on a regular basis?
It’s all about the real estate where the horse barns are located.
VERY valuable (in a well run city, that is).
Don’t give him any ideas.
Thank God.
Need to make room for a massive village of muzzie illegals?

The Somalis keep trying to fornicate with them.
Early in 1900s my great aunt and her husband, Swedish immigrants were killed in Connecticut in their carriage which collided with a street car. The news article I read did not report the horse.
