Democrats hit 50% or more in Texas, Alaska polls as Senate battle heats up

The nation’s two largest states by land area gave Democrats a boost in the battle for Senate control Saturday, with candidates in Texas and Alaska hitting 50% or more in new polls.

Both races would represent pickups if Democrats are able to hold on and win on Nov. 3, which is just a month away.

In Texas, Democratic state Rep. James Talarico leads Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton, 51% to 45%, according to a New York Times/Siena College poll released Saturday. President Trump’s approval rating in the state stands at 40%, compared with 57% who disapprove.

The poll, which examined five Republican-held Senate seats, gives Talarico a six-point advantage, just outside the poll’s 4.5-percentage-point margin of error and roughly double his edge in the RealClearPolitics polling average in the Republican-leaning state. A Marist College poll last week also put Talarico ahead by six points.

In Alaska, Democrat Mary Peltola leads Republican Sen. Dan Sullivan, 50% to 43% — a seven-point advantage that exceeds the poll’s margin of error.

The poll comes days after a recording surfaced of Paxton telling conservative donors and lobbyists that “everybody’s numbers dropped” following the GOP’s much-hyped midterm convention in Dallas last month, where Trump spoke to the crowd.

Just remember, polls showing the Democrats leading are fake.

Election results where these polls were accurate are fraud.

All you have to do is drive around the state to know it’s gone. Nothing but Hindus and Muslims.

There are so many stupid polls every election cycle. The 2020 polls were projecting an absolute wipeout for the GOP in the Senate and it ended up being just a 3 seat shift.

They may be right this time, they may be wrong, but the ball may fall on 21 or 31 on the roulette wheel.

Siena’s final 2024 poll in its home state NY showed a 19% margin for Harris, vs the actual 13%.

Total 100 percent BULL SH*T..if that were the case Dems wouldnt be throwing so much money into Texas if they already had it in the bag..and another thing, Talarico wants open borders, so the same people in 2024 in Texas who were bitching about open borders are now going to support it, yeah i dont buy it..and I have to agree that Paxton is a horrible candidate, you dont see him EVER doing anything. Does he just expect to be handed the victory. I have no idea if Cornyn would have won he stinks too but Paxton is just terrible

As has been posted here, those recent NYT polls are garbage. That outsize lead they attribute to the ‘Rat are essentially the same as the margin of error. It’s just more manipulation from the media arm of the DNC.

Polling traditionally fudged towards Dems IMHO.

But there are legit concerns it looks like the GOP is losing a Senate seat in North Carolina.

Abbott sounds like he’s competing with Newsome!

But ... better than the avoid socialist gal running against him.

She doesn’t have a chance, here, thankfully.

Hopefully, the majority votes straight ticket Repub, in TX.

>> What the hell is wrong with you?

Minority Republican is doing her damnedest to demoralize the conservatives, with the goal of depressing the R vote and turning over Congress to the DemonRats. That’s what’s wrong with her — and several other traitors regularly posting every scrap of TDS negativity they can find on the Webz.

It would help if the Paxton campaign would run a commercial or two about Talarico’s statements on transgenders and Christianity.
