Millions of Brazilians will vote Sunday in an election dominated by two rivals: incumbent President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and Sen. Flávio Bolsonaro, the son of ex-leader Jair Bolsonaro, who was convicted in a failed coup attempt after he lost to Lula four years ago.
Twelve candidates are on the presidential ballot, but only Lula and Bolsonaro are thought to have a real chance of becoming Brazil’s next head of state. If no candidate receives more than 50% of the vote, the top two advance to a runoff Oct. 25.
Lula, who at 80 is one of the world’s oldest heads of state, is running in his seventh presidential election and seeking his second two-term tenure in office. Bolsonaro, 45, is competing in his first presidential election and seeking to return his family to power after his father, an ally of President Trump, governed Brazil from 2019 through 2022.
The two represent opposite sides of the political spectrum, with conflicting visions on issues ranging from how to tackle organized crime to the relationship Latin America’s biggest country should have with the Trump administration.

Last I checked, Brazilian ballot counting machines run Smartmatic software.
It's all theater. They "pretend" to hold an election.
embarrassing article as expected from the AP
If our guy doesn’t win there SHOULD be riots. The train is leaving the station. Think Argentina-Venezuela. Do they really want the Cubans laughing at them?
Heres what to know. Leftists will steal it.
>I assume that Lula will win.
It’s all theater. They “pretend” to hold an election<
No way. Saddam got 99% of the vote. He was that popular.
Are they still using dominion?
Can Brazilians not see to the south and what Molei has done in Argentina? Lula is not the answer….
Naturally.
“Heres what to know. Leftists will steal it.”

Polymarket, where people have to put up money to match their moutn, has Lula currently at 70% and Bolsenaro at ~30%. No body else matters.
Milei is a failure. When he took office, Argentina was the 2nd country in the world with highest inflation. Now it’s 4th, so still bad.
AI, what was Argentina’s unemployment rate before and after Milei?
Argentina’s unemployment rate stood at 5.7% immediately before Javier Milei took office in late 2023, and has since risen to approximately 7.9% by mid-2026 following the administration’s severe fiscal adjustments and economic cooling.
Monroe Doctrine - whatever the cost.
Make the CIA work for America, for a change.
It takes time because it was a big mess. No way that Milei was going to fix it in one year.
“Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Honduras, Panama, Paraguay, and Peru have swung pro-Trump.
Brazil, Mexico, Uruguay, Guatemala are left wing.
I suspect many voters in Brazil will look at these 2 groups and consider which way is more successful.
If the vote is close then there will be runoff. If the vote is not close, then it is difficult to get away with stealing that many votes.
Noruega is left wing.
That's the hope.
Their last election was stolen, so I’ll just assume the same will happen again.
