If you want to understand what’s shaping the midterm elections in November, start with voters age 50 and older. They are highly motivated, they make up a substantial share of the country’s swing vote, and they are focused on issues that affect their everyday lives, like affordability and Social Security.
There’s no better state that exemplifies this than Alaska, where one of the most compelling Senate races is taking shape in the battle for control of the Senate.
AARP’s new bipartisan poll of likely Alaska voters found that 87 percent of voters 50 and older rate themselves a “10” on a 10-point scale of motivation to vote. Among voters under 50, 62 percent say the same. Older swing voters make up nearly 15 percent of the entire electorate and roughly half of swing voters statewide.
Those findings matter in a state with closely watched races for the U.S. Senate, governor and Congress. Alaska’s ranked-choice voting system also gives voters the option to rank as many or as few candidates as they choose from the top four who advanced to the general election. In a crowded field, the preferences of a larger, highly engaged group of voters are an important part of the picture.
The horse-race numbers may draw the headlines, but the issues are what’s on voters’ minds. Affordability ranks as the top issue for Alaska voters 50-plus. Rising prices for groceries, gasoline, and healthcare are putting pressure on household budgets, and older voters say these concerns will be top of mind when they cast their ballots.
Social Security also crosses party lines. Seventy-eight percent of Alaska voters 50 and older say it is an important issue in deciding their vote. Nine in 10 say they are more likely to support a candidate who will make sure workers receive the Social Security payments they earned. This is a clear reminder that Social Security is not a liberal or conservative issue. It’s an American promise, funded by workers who have paid into it over a lifetime of hard work.
Medicare is also a major voting issue. Seventy percent of older voters say Medicare is important to their vote and 81 percent say they are more likely to support a candidate who would expand Medicare’s ability to negotiate prescription drug prices.
The poll also points to strong interest in retirement security at the state level. Seventy-eight percent of older voters support creating a public-private retirement savings option for Alaska workers who do not have access to one through their jobs.
AARP does not support or oppose candidates or political parties. Our role is to make sure voters have reliable information and that the issues affecting people 50 and older are part of the public conversation.
This poll offers a straightforward picture of Alaska’s older voters — they are motivated, focused on the cost of everyday life and paying close attention to Social Security, Medicare, and retirement security. Their views will be an important part of Alaska’s elections in November.

This is a push poll in its most basic form.

What BEEEESSSS...
Well, if seniors want to pay taxes on their Social Security, then they can vote democrat.
If they want their daughters raped or killed and themselves murdered by illegals, they can vote democrat.
If they want to lose their country through an illegal immigrant invasion, like England and Europe, then they can vote for democrats.
Instead of giving all Americans 5k, why not divvy it out to all middle or low income retired seniors that are American citizens. Id suggest putting it back into SS but I fear the libs would steal from that pot first second they get.
AARP is a left wing socialist organization. Do not deal with them. They came to “Power” under noBamas’s administration, many seniors were tricked into supporting them, and still are. Boycott them, I have for many reasons.
AARP is snake pit filled with retired rats.

That works out to be close to $3,000 per year per American resident.
Family of four? ~$12,000/year
In GA the D vote in the primary was much higher than the R vote. Yet in the final for judge on the same day in May, the R candidates received 10,000+ more votes than the D’s. The D voters crossed over to vote for the R candidates for Judge.
How do we get them to do that again in October-November?
In May primary, the MAGA voters stayed home and did not vote.
How do we get them to turnout and vote in October-November?
If we solve these 2 problems we will do well in Novembrer.
The pro-data center forces need to do a massive education campaign, not just to help Jackson, but to help themselves. The panic-peddling horseshit of the Chinese needs to be answered logically.
Nobody is complaining about long existing Data Ceneters in Atlanta downtown, midtown, Buckhead, Sand Springs, Johns Creek, Norcross, etc. But Luddites are scared of new data centers due to the panic-peddling. This panic-peddling is worse than the panic-peddling that tries to scare people because the wrong race is moving into the area.
The debt of the federal government per American citizen is 3 times the cost of construction materials for a Casa Griffin.
The debt of the federal government per American citizen family of four is 12 times the cost of construction materials for a Casa Griffin.
The dems keep pushing to entitle ILLEGAL ALIENS to social security.

Can anybody define what “affordability” is?
Affordability is a vague term used by (mostly Democrat) demagogic politicians generally asserting they can solve problems of monetary inflation and high cost of living caused by that, too much labor competition caused by mass illegal migration, too much offshoring, etc. In most cases said politicians have nothing in the way of policy actions that will help.

Social security is already taxable above AGI $32000 for a couple filing jointly. Above AGI $25000 for an individual.
If you add the seniors deduction the total is around $44,000.
lol, as if things were affordable during that Biden reign of terror. They were going to bring us to our knees by banning, gas powered cars and demand you drive electric. they want to ban gas stoves, gas lawn mowers, etc. I swear these polls are dumb or the citizens taking the poll are and have very short memories.
