Peggy Flanagan up 1 point in Minnesota Senate poll over Michele Tafoya

Minnesota Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan (D) is narrowly leading her Republican opponent, former NFL sideline reporter Michele Tafoya, in a new poll in the state’s U.S. Senate race.

The InsiderAdvantage survey found that 46 percent of likely voters in the state supported Flanagan, while Tafoya garnered 45 percent support.

Matt Towery, a pollster with InsiderAdvantage, called the survey results “unusual” for a race in a blue-leaning state, noting outgoing Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz’s (D) waning approval ratings and a widespread fraud scandal in the state as possible contributing factors to this close race.

“Tafoya does extremely well with men and Flanagan is losing every age group other than the youngest of voters, who in the poll have a significant ‘enthusiasm about voting’ gap versus other age groups who are more enthusiastic,” Towery said in a statement.

“We are a ways out and Minnesota has not been friendly to GOP candidates, so this could change,” he continued. “But for the moment the race appears a tossup.”

The Cook Political Report, a nonpartisan election forecaster, has rated the race as “likely Democrat” since last August.

Flanagan and Tafoya are competing to replace outgoing Sen. Tina Smith (D-Minn.) after the Democratic lawmaker announced her retirement from Congress last year.

In polls conducted earlier this month, Flanagan posted a 4-point advantage over Tafoya in a Quantus Insights survey and a 1-point advantage in a co/efficient poll.

And Flanagan is ahead? Losing every other age group except the youngsters who are not enthusiastic..."Ahead" makes no sense.

The Cook Political Report, a nonpartisan election forecaster,“

That’s laughable. The rats control the SOS office we probably need an 8-10 lead to beat the cheat in Minn.

Michele Tafoya is a great lady, and ALL Minnesotans would benefit from her victory in Nov.

Staying home is not an option.

Minnesota has a history of election fraud. Norm Coleman had a narrow lead over Al Franken in a race for a US Senate seat. However, during the recount boxes of ballots were “ found” of course 100% were votes for Franken. I expect the same in this race.
