Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman cast the deciding vote for a resolution that would've directed President Donald Trump to withdraw armed forces from Iran.
Fetterman was the only Democrat to vote against the War Powers Resolution on Thursday. The resolution was rejected by a 49-50 vote.
Republican Sen. Dave McCormick also voted against the resolution Thursday.
Fetterman has publicly supported the war in Iran from the get-go, but an increasing number of Republicans have opposed it. On Thursday, three Senate Republicans voted in support of the resolution.
If the resolution passed, it would require Trump to receive congressional approval before continuing military action in Iran. The conflict started Feb. 28, when the U.S. and Israel launched joint airstrikes against Iran.
Fetterman has not released a statement on his most recent vote, but he previously said he believes military action is the only way to prevent Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon.
State Rep. Malcolm Kenyatta (D-Philadelphia) went after Fetterman on X, calling him "an utter disappointment."
Rep. Chris Deluzio (D-Beaver/Allegheny) wrote that Fetterman's vote will "keep the Iran War raging."

Those who voted to interfere with the President’s resolve to prevent Iranian Islamic fanatics from nuking America and/or its allies should be charged with treason. And anyone who votes for these people should seek psychiatric counseling immediately.

OK now I’m impressed. He went hard against his party when his vote made the difference. He is doomed in the next primary. Good chance he switches sides after the midterms.

True that. As was mentioned in the article, Democrat politicians are unhappy with Fetterman. But it’s more than just that. The PA Democrat voters I know are also unhappy with him.
That’s not a scientific poll, of course. But I wouldn’t be surprised if Fetterman simply chooses not to run for reelection.
The so-called Iran War has been raging for 1,400 years. This is just the latest chapter in that ancient and ongoing battle to preserve civilization.
By all accounts, his wife is a rabid Dem so yeah he may not run.

many people can’t seem to connect the dots of history that far back. US has had other battles with them or their relatives, around the time we became a country.
they get shut down for a while then flare up again. it won’t be pretty if they continue increasing in numbers as they have been inside our borders.

No doubt if these same 4 had been in the Senate in 1941, they would have voted against declaring war on Japan.
Those who voted for this just have TDS.
If the Iranian mullahs had gotten nuclear weapons and then resumed their support of terrorism (with nuclear-based impunity), nuked Israel, or tried to blackmail the world, these politicians would attack Trump for having failed to rein in Iran!

President Trump would have ignored it if had passed. No president has thecognized the constitutionality of the War Powers Act.

Think of how this looks to Iran and other enemies. The weak American populace with its traitors growing in strength against Trump and the GOP, barely getting a victory in what should have shown American united resolve.
No wonder they want to wait it out in Iran.
