The number of non-citizens engaged in the U.S. banking system has fallen sharply amid the Trump administration’s crackdown on illegal migrants.
Immigrants have been closing bank accounts and going back to keep cash in their homes, according to a report by Bloomberg.
Migrants are also taking out fewer loans, the news organization added. Consumer loans to illegal aliens fell by 70 percent since 2024. And lenders are beginning to shy away from entering into such deals to begin with.

Excellent! The banking system is going to get burned for all the loans they gave illegal aliens to buy luxury pickups and SUVs. Morons.
Hey Breitbart! They aren’t ‘migrants’ who seasonally come into the US and are paid to help harvest crops, they are illegal aliens who were allowed to sneak across the border or were blatantly flown in by the BiteMe gang. I L L E G A L A L I E N S. You propagandizing doofuses!
Honest question. Do we still allow immigrants to come in to pick crops? Why? Aren’t we supposed to reduce ALL immigration?
Absolutely!
Rather ironic since the Democrats pushed conservatives out of the US banking system.
Actually, they didn’t sneak across; the gates were WIDE OPEN!!
I rented apartments to illegal Mexican immigrants in Chicago. When my tenants “unexpectedly” went to Mexico, their extended family or friends or former employer’s boss would pay the rent.
In several years of renting to low income Americans and low income Mexicans I never lost a dime off Mexicans. I lost big off Americans.
The difference was not American or Mexican, the difference was character. Regardless of ethnicity, those who worked hard, did not drink alcohol, did not use tobacco or pot were good tenants.
Those who did not work, mostly because they smoked, did pot, drank too much were not good tenants.
Not all Americans are the same. Not all are good neighbors.
Not all Mexicans are the same. Not all are bad.
Other qualities are more important.
IMHO, this is a FEATURE!
NOT A BUG!
“At the time, Biden warned the banking industry that “denying someone access to credit based solely on their actual or perceived immigrant status may violate federal law.”
At the same time Biden got banks to debank Donald Trump and his family.
Great news!
“leaving the rest of us holding the bag for his defaulted loan(s).”
Nope.
You won’t be “holding the bag” for anybody.
The banks will take care of bad loans as usual.
They always have bad loans.

The only reason Demonrats support bringing ILLEGAL immigrants into the USA is because they see them as potential Demonrat voters!

Actually the main reason is apportionment.

Very astute point!
“And lenders are beginning to shy away from entering into such deals to begin with.’
I asked online and it is legal for banks to do “basic business transactions” with people in the country illegally.
Seems banks went way beyond that (loans for auto, house, business or anything are not basic transaction according to what I just read online). Glad if it’s being corrected.
Good.
That’s right! If the illegals coming across the border, where going to vote Republican. They (Democrats) would shutdown the border today!
