I thought safety was one of the arguments FOR regulating the marijuana industry.

LOL. The owner could have chosen to not pay other creditors for supplies and services. To reduce costs, he could have gotten the workers to agree to a 25% wage haircut.
Nope, instead he stiffed the employees with that lame excuse.
Poor quality control that is bad for business. You have to process the marijuana apart from the fentanyl. The cartels need to hire some competent engineers. As industry deserts California probably quite a few competent people looking for work.(sarc)

An episode in that documentary contains a conflict between a pot grower and two hispanic dudes he trusted to take care of one of his pot farms. Apparently they didn’t know what they were doing and ruined the crop so the grower refused to pay ‘em.....it didn’t end well.
From what I saw, regulation at least in the Humbolt County area is a joke.

There was a guy from The Maine Wire who exposed this a year or more ago on the Shawn Ryan Podcast.
The CHINESE now control the growing of marijuana in the USA.
They have taken over from the Mexican Cartels.
This started up in Maine where the Chinese criminal gangs bought cheap houses in rural or poor towns and turned them into grow houses. He discovered it due to them purchasing the house next door to his moms in Dexter, ME.
The Chinese now own 500 houses in Maine where they grow Marijuana. They use herbicides not legal in the USA to increase production. They DO NOT CARE if those herbicides are poisonous. As long as they make the marijuana grow more.
The Chinese then sell to the dispenceries or on the Black Market. They have undercut the Mexican Cartels and driven them out of the business.
In addition, these are all young Chinese MEN running these grow houses and farms in CA, OK, ME, etc. These Chinese men OWE a DEBT to the Chinese Criminal gangs in the old country.
They are sent here to WORK off their debt.
Their SISTERS are sent to work in MASSAGE PARLORS.
These are the Chinese men that started coming here during the Biden Admin. They were flown into Ecuador and were given a ticket and instructions to follow to get into the USA. Once they cross the border they make a call on the cell phone provided and they are picked up and brought to some city. From there they are given a bus ticket to go to wherever they are needed to work and tend the crop.
Of course, the various state governments are not doing anything about this. It is left up to the local police.
Who are outmanned.

That would explain the young men that biden allowed into our country. biden/harris flew them all over the country to small towns. Then the bidens got a cut of the profits.

We are under such a regulatory microscope by the USDA, EPA, OSHA, CALEPA, DPR, CDFA, county ag commissioner, county DA.
Any thing out of regulation we get fined, harassed threatened with criminal prosecution.
We need restricted material permits, notice of intents, pesticide use reports.
I need a certified crop advisor license, ag pest control advisor license, qualified applicator license.
I won’t bore you with more but this operation needs to be shut down and someone needs to go to jail.
They would walk across the Canadian border into NY, NH & VT. There was a store just across the border in northern NY that said there were Chinese guys there waiting every morning when they would open. They would use the pay phone. Then someone would come pick them up and drive them to NYC.

During the Great Recession there were several houses right here in southern NH that got busted for being illegal grow houses. It was also young Chinese men. However, they were also stealing the electricity by bypassing the meter. It was discovered because the electric utility was noticing power loss on their grid. They also had elaborate exhaust systems to vent the heat through existing chimneys.
Yet many here on FR have been pushing the legalization of pot for years and look what we got. Not to mention the stink everywhere when you go out now.

Theres a push (no pun intended) to legalize it here in Florida. So far we keep voting it down but I fear one day it will pass here.
I had my entanglements with pot when I was in my 20s.
All it did for me was lead me to selling it and then led me to using and dealing cocaine.
People watch Breaking Bad or Ozark and think “That seems like a really good idea.”
For same reason that southern farms employ illegal alien kids to pick crops — they are Democrats and never have to answer for anything.
