US President Donald Trump said he did not regret going to war against Iran despite the impact the conflict may have on the November US midterm elections.
"I don't believe in the word 'regret.' You can always question yourself a little bit," Trump said in an interview with Fox News host Laura Ingraham when asked if he regretted the Iran war due to the impact it may have on the elections.
"If I had it do again, I would do exactly as I did," Trump said in the interview broadcast on Thursday on The Ingraham Angle show.
Trump dismissed suggestions that some of his supporters were upset and demoralized about the war
"I don't think they're demoralized. I think they're very proud of the fact that I'm not letting Iran have a nuclear weapon," Trump said.
Trump reiterated his thinking that the war will end immediately after the midterm election.
"It ends right after the election," Trump said in the interview. He made similar comments on Wednesday, alleging Tehran was trying to influence the elections that will determine whether Trump's Republican Party retains control of Congress.
The rise in oil and gas prices due to the US-Israeli war on Iran has become a major issue for Republicans in the lead-up to the elections.
The US and Israel attacked Iran on February 28 and Iran responded with its own strikes on Israel and Gulf states that host US bases. US-Israeli strikes on Iran and Israeli attacks on Lebanon have killed thousands and displaced millions.
Trump has cited weakening Iran's nuclear capabilities as one of his war objectives. Iran does not have nuclear weapons and says its uranium enrichment program is for peaceful purposes. The US is nuclear-armed.

Patience: "Archibald! Grosvenor, who is perfect in every way!"
Grosvenor: "I am. I have been loved despairingly by every woman I have ever met... It is my hideous destiny to be the world's idol."
If Harris had been in elected in 2024, there is a good chance we would have had a very serious terrorist attack against our nation by now.
Just think how open the borders would be; think of the state of our military under Biden; think of the amount of our tax dollars flowing into terrorist organizations via NGO’s and USAID. Muslim terrorists would have been well positioned to meet their goals of destroying Israel and the U.S.
I think Trump did the right thing.
I sure regret it. Ushering in RATs as a result makes me really regret it.
The question here isn’t about Trump in general, but about whether the war has badly damaged the midterm outcomes.
“The question here isn’t about Trump in general, but about whether the war has badly damaged the midterm outcomes.”
My response was why he SHOULDN’T regret it no matter the effect on the mid-terms..
I don’t think it will. For 40 years we’ve been hearing that “something had to be done about Iran”. Trump is the only President that took the threats from Iran seriously. I think most conservatives will realize that. If conservatives vote for Democrat candidates this November then they aren’t really conservative after all.
> Trump has cited weakening Iran’s nuclear capabilities as one of his war objectives. <
That was a very doable objective. And it was in fact accomplished on June 22, 2025 (Operation Midnight Hammer).
But what’s going on now? Trump has since stated new objectives. Iran must give up all of its nuclear material. Iran must “surrender unconditionally”.
How can any reasonable person expect that to happen without a ground invasion? The mullahs are all religious fanatics. They are not push-overs by any means. They will resist.
I've been calling for a large scale ground invasion since day-one. I am a very reasonable person.
All this for a nuke that didn't exist and a strait that was already open.
Then you go enlist now. And take Barron Trump and the rest of the young adults in the extended Trump family with you.
“I think Trump did the right thing.“
I agree.
And I don’t think it will affect the midterms.
People are sick of the godless Islamocommie party.
Only a puss president would sit back and let our enemies ride roughshod over us just to win in the midterms.
I also think that there are forward looking people who don’t want to be nuked by Iran.
Only the airhead, brainwashed pawns will vote for Islamocommie rule.
He's right. It had to be done, and it could not avoid being done any longer.
It was 30 years overdue, but because of a series of weak presidents, the buck kept getting passed.
I would regret it even more if those religious fanatics had killed millions in New York City and Washington DC. (And I don't even like those people.)
If losing the midterms is the price we have to pay for stopping a nuclear attack on America, than we must accept that.
I have read several opinions by "experts" that Iran can enrich from 60% to 90% in two weeks. 90% is bomb grade Uranium.
A crude gun bomb design will absolutely work, and they could build that in another two weeks.
So a month away from having a crude nuke. In six months, they could have had the launch capacity to drop that thing anywhere on the planet. They have enough fissile material to make 11 bombs.
So your talk of "didn't exist" is just foolish talk. It was damn close to existing.
Read up on nukes. Implosion plutonium bombs are hard. Uranium gun bombs are easy.
We didn't even test our first gun bomb design. We just dropped it and it worked perfectly. Inefficient, but absolutely went off as expected.
A month? How could we possibly know that?
I would have loved to hear your comments as the money was peed down the rat-hole of Ukraine, to prop up Europe. That was the only other choice.
This is the only one that attacks the ‘Rats, too.
I’ve been calling for a large scale ground invasion since day-one. I am a very reasonable person.

The only thing dumber than the current war, would be to double down on Trump’s historic foreign policy & economic stupidity & launch a ground invasion.
Also, would Congress approve an invasion of Iran?
Answer: The vote wouldn’t even be close.
Are they all secretly nihilists?
