Well, in all fairness, President Trump also drastically reduced our welfare payments to Ukraine, as are others ( Germany’s recently elected AFD party). Seems Ukraine has run out of “ other people’s money”.

His plan has never been to 'conquer Ukraine', that's just propaganda.

The Russian goal is to keep NATO out of Ukraine, and thus maintain a neutral buffer between Russia and NATO along a large front with no decent natural barriers.

In the end, the Russians are as likely to tolerate NATO in Ukraine as we would be to tolerate Chinese bases in Mexico or Canada. We'd go to war to prevent it, just to avoid the potential threat it could pose.

How long before the Ukraine obsessives on this site start a campaign vilifying LePen and National Rally in France, as they did against Viktor Orban and Fidesz, the AfD in Germany, and even Vice President Vance in the US?

Apparently, because in their minds love of Ukraine trumps all other consideration, it never occurred to them that National Rally's first concern is France's sovereignty, not Ukraine's. Putin isn't going to invade France anytime soon.

What amazes me most about these obsessives is the fact that they will turn on any political figure not for being supportive of Putin or Russia (which none of them are) but for being insufficiently devoted to their precious Ukraine. They need to realize that just because Kyiv is the center of their (small) mental universe, it isn't the center the universe for political leaders who have their own nation to be concerned with.

You are funny. From day one, Putin was very clear on his objectives.
1) No NATO for Ukraine. Neutrality.
2) Return the ethnic Russian Donbas, Lughansk, Donetsk to Russia per the two elections that have been already held.
3) Ban the Neo Nazis of Ukraine, presumably by Rada decree.

Very simple. Vlad has only 5 percent left of Donetsk to liberate. As he has stated, they can agree to terms or settle it militarily….the clock is ticking on Ukraine.
