Putin orders a 72-hour pause in strikes on Kyiv as U.S. envoys visit Russia and Ukraine

Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered a 72-hour pause in strikes on Kyiv, the Kremlin said Saturday, as U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner arrived in Moscow to try to revive a stalled push to end Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

"Putin has ordered that no strikes be carried out against Kyiv for three days, starting at midnight today," presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told Russia's Tass news agency. He said the decision was tied to preparations for Witkoff and Kushner's planned visit to the Ukrainian capital, which Kyiv has said will take place on Sunday.

Peskov also confirmed that Kushner and Witkoff would meet Putin during their visit, but said there was "no talk of new ideas" to end the conflict.

Every time Putin bombed Kiev, it was the same as bombing Russian assets somewhere in Russia and in Russian occupied territory in Ukraine.

Ukraine is able to attack at will anywhere it pleases, and the whole world has noticed how useless Russia's defense systems have been. Ukraine is taking all of them out, systematically and opening safe corridors for all Ukrainian drones and missiles. Duh!

I don't have a problem with President Trump's unorthodox approach when it comes to negotiating with other nations.

A typical diplomat from the State Department would act like Russia is still the Soviet Union from the Cold War.

But, Ukraine is just going to continue responding to the invasion and continue killing Russians, by the thousands every single day. Is that what you are applauding?

But, 3 days isn't going to accomplish anything, since Putin is not going to gain anything during those 3 days, and it's going to be 'business as usual' after those 3 days. So, Russia can expect ALL of its refineries to be destroyed and all of its warehouses destroyed, and another million or more if its troops killed or maimed for life.

The problem with Witcoff is that he seems starstruck every time he sees Putin, he is literally groveling. I saw the video of the beginning of the video today.
I prefer when America send tough guys looking unimpressed by anything.
Witcoff is doing a job he is not supposed doing. He shows weakness.
I liked envoys like James Baker III. People like him were quality men from the good old days. He was very knowledgeable.
