LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB+WAVE) — A Kentucky judge ordered former Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin to serve 60 days in jail without bond on a contempt charge out of Jefferson County.
Judge Angela Johnson ordered Bevin back to jail during his court appearance Friday afternoon in Louisville.
“He has over and over again demonstrated a complete disregard and utter disrespect for this court,” Johnson said during Friday’s hearing. “You have done nothing to show the court that you are willing to act in good faith, and I cannot reward that with a reduced sentenced or an alternative sentence, or some form of relief for you because you have shown this court that you are not going to do what you are ordered to do, because you don’t think it should be this way.”
The former governor was arrested Thursday in Paris, Kentucky. According to a 911 call obtained Friday, a woman called dispatch and told the operator Bevin was “working on a Hallmark movie set” there.

I Googled this. It’s a weird case. The Bevins adopted a boy from Ethiopia. He seems to have been a troubled teen they sent to Jamaica to some home for problem youth. He claims the effectively abandoned him there. Now, he’s intervening in their divorce proceeding trying to grab some off the top before they split it.
Smart kid. Wonder who is his attorney.
Jonah was sent to a highly disciplined school in Jamaica, where Jonah says he was abused.
Jonah was apparently estranged (or abandoned) by the Bevin family when he turned 18 years of age.
The long Wikipedia entry on Matt Bevin is one of the most politically biased and inflammatory biographies I have ever read.
I knew almost nothing about Matt Bevin before reading it, so my comments are not useful.
