Russia is secretly helping Iran develop supersonic cruise missiles - report

Russia has been secretly supporting Iranian missile development since 2023, according to a report in the Financial Times on Tuesday.

The goal of the program, codenamed C430L, was to help Iran develop missiles capable of taking out US Navy aircraft carriers in the Middle East.

In particular, they aimed to develop a ramjet propulsion system that would allow Iranian missiles to fly at several times the speed of sound.

Fast, low-flying missiles would give Western air defences less time to react increasing the impact of such an attack.

The transfer of advanced missile technology would have required approval from the highest political echelons in Russia, amid speculation that this was a technology exchange. Iran supports Russian drone development, and Russia supports Iranian missile development, in addition to the already existing intelligence cooperation between the two.

Leaks seen by the Financial Times showed that preparations for the deal were underway before the deal was signed in November 2023, only a month after October 7.

"Russia is trying to broaden the Ukraine war and draw the US into different theatres," said Nicole Grajewski, a professor at Sciences Po University in Paris.

The investigation also showed that the support continued throughout the war with Iran in February, and provided significant assistance to Iran during its attacks on the Gulf states.

Iran has long sought to develop a ramjet propulsion system, as far back as 2019, when then supreme leader Ali Khamenei was seen inspecting development sites. Iranian media also reported the testing of ramjet prototypes in August 2023.

We help Ukraine, Russia helps Iran. The endless cycle of proxy wars continues, unabated.

The Putin-Iran cooperation predates the Ukraine invasion and us helping Ukraine.

In 2015, Putin and Iran coordinated military intervention in the Syrian Civil War to prop up the Bashar al-Assad regime.

If you want to go back further, the Treaty of Friendship, 1921, between Iran and the USSR permitted the USSR to enter Iran if Iran was attacked by a third party.

More US pin pricks on Iran should put an end to this issue.

Russia’s problem

Paranoia is a mental state or condition where a person holds an intense, irrational belief that others are trying to harm, deceive, or exploit them, despite a lack of evidence.

LOL, you apparently are not familiar with the definition of coup.

A coup (short for coup d'état, or "stroke of state") is a sudden, illegal takeover of an existing government by a small group.

Almost a million Ukrainians came out to protest. So, no, it was not a "coup", it was the will of the people demanding Ukraine join the wealthier EU, and not some Russian-"Banana"Stan Economic Group (CIS).

And we are (not so secretly) helping Ukraine fight Russia.

Was the CIA involved?

Did the U.S. pick the new Prime Minister?

The answer to both of those questions is “Yes”.

If you want to say having our central intelligence agency involved in overthrowing an elected government and then our diplomats picking the new Prime Minister...isn’t us being involved in a coup, then I don’t know what to tell you.

Grow up. Both sides tried to influence Ukraine, problem for the Kremlin is no country or its people wants what Russia is selling vs the wealthy EU.

**************************************************************

More accurate to say that Ukraine is helping us fight Russia. And for no good reason at all.

We have the assistant Sec of State Victoria Nuland recorded on a phone call picking the new Prime Minister BEFORE the current government even fell and then saying “F<[k the EU” when questioned if the EU would approve.

This was not a case of the people organically rising up because they loved the EU so much and Russia is so mean.

We engineered the whole thing knowing it would lead to war and the death of thousands. “Nyet means nyet”

This is probably why IRan is on/off regarding their surrender. Buying time to get their supersonic missile set up and useable.

LOL, so if you had the choice would you rather live permanently in Russia vs the EU?

That choice was what the demonstrations were about. Whether Ukraine joined the wealthy EU or the much poorer Russian CIS.

And Yes, BOTH countries, Russia AND the US tried to influence Ukraine.

Stop with the "we engineered" nonsense. No, we sold a product to Ukraine (EU) that it wanted. Period. That's why the people came out to protest, they wanted better living conditions for themselves and their families. Its that simple.

It isn’t just Russia attacking Ukraine, the North Korean Army forces are there as well, and the Red Chinese Army forces are training the Russians and also helping them in aid and of course iran is helping them.

These evil nations against the world has been normal for many generations of the Americans and Europeans, and the people of Latin America and Africa, and Asia, and the Middle East.

True, however Russians at least commie russians have always had a huge inferiority complex (by proven bad equipment and terrible sacrificial non-strategic military moves— see: Stalin’s deep surprise with Barbarossa attacks- disappeared for 4 days in disbelief, so it is said. He of course was paranoid insane as hell). Inferiority combined with paranoia, and they sold this for a fake “missile gap” which JFK exploited and which was never... true. They could not hit the side of a 10 mile wide barn. See: Chernobyl’s superior, not, design.

Appalling lack of respect for life in a very Asian sense.

Not even Russians want what Putin is selling... under extreme duress and thuggery as befits his KGB East German past-— smart, mean, shrewd and a criminal pal of the Stasi.

Are you sure about that?

It's been 12 years since the coup. Are they a member of the EU?
