Zelensky warns every airline using Russian airspace, every insurer, everyone using key Russian airports:
Russian skies are becoming completely unsafe.
Ukraine says it doesn't threaten civilian aviation, but "drones in Russian skies will be such that this must be taken into account."
He warns Russian airspace "will de facto be closed — the war Russia started is closing its skies."
Ukraine's foreign ministry will brief international bodies.
"There are no more safe moments in Russian skies. Civilian aviation has no place among drones."

Those words will certainly grab the attention of Putin. I would expect some harsh exchanges militarily.

At least 12 killed and over a dozen injured in Russian strikes on Kyiv 9/1/2026 Russian air attacks killed 12 people and injured many more in Kyiv and the surrounding region early on September 1, authorities said, marking the sixth straight day of intense strikes on the Ukrainian capital. Those injured three children, just as Ukrainian pupils return to school. In a new tactic, Moscow has sent swarms of new jet-powered drones to plague Kyiv and nearby areas day and night, killing residents and damaging homes

Honest business people, medical professionals, and missionaries fly into Russia every day.
Are the Ukes mental?

Ukraine's Stance: Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine does not target civil aviation or pose a threat to civilian aircraft, but noted that "drone-infested skies are no place for civilian aviation" and that Kyiv will keep Russian airspace closed to civilian traffic in effect through the war The Warning: Announced on September 1, 2026, Zelenskyy stated that carriers flying to Moscow, St. Petersburg, and other major Russian hubs must factor in the severe risks of drone traffic in Russian skies.

That wish actually should’ve been fulfilled a long time ago…

This clarification from Little z is not helpful for Ukraine. It literally sounds like he’s targeting civilian aviation, rather than accidentally having civilian aircraft hit a Ukrainian drone.
Sort of an “I’m sorry, not sorry” admission that non-military aircraft is fair game.

They must be manufacturing and/or importing drones by the truckload. It seems like they never run out.

Flock Cameras can already track your every step. Then you bring in smartphone cameras and you are covered even in your neighborhood and home.
Google and Apple and smartphone makers know where you live and where you did your #1 and #2. They know what you ate at your local restaurant and what you bought at the grocery stores and at department stores, and they can see you at the beach and at theme parks and wherever you go on vacation.
So, drones would just be overkill, since they're not needed to keep track of whatever you're up to.

Sooo, now commercial aircraft are fair game?... Are the Ukes mental? No, the only "mental" people are Russians and their proxies who are the ONLY people who shot down a commercial liner.
Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 was a scheduled passenger flight from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur that was shot down by Russian-backed forces with a Buk 9M38 surface-to-air missile on 17 July 2014, while flying over eastern Ukraine.

So, you suspect that Putin/Russia will launch missiles and drones in the direction of Ukraine's cities and citizens?
Let's hope not. That would escalate the war, don't you think?

NATO and other deep state entities are trying to goad Putin into taking military action against their proxy military which is the Ukraine.
Putin is aware of this manipulative behavior.
The last thing we need is an escalation of the conflict there.

Must be something new. So, is that like what Ukraine does on an attack per attack basis, where Ukraine responds 'ten-fold' to each Russian attack.
Prediction: if Russia dares to attack Ukraine, Russia will get back a lot more of its own medicine. Please report back if I am proven wrong.
BTW, Russia has thousands more valuable targets than Ukraine, so who do you think has more to lose with these bombings exchanges?
BTW, don't take a flight to Russia or attempt to leave Russia by plane.

Or, Putin may escalate by firing thousands of Geran type drones, and missiles at Ukraine's cities...

The drones would be used to deliver ordinance against those not towing the line because you can bet the by the time this happens the 2nd amendment will be gone along with gun and ammo makers.

Ugghh! I hope not!
You think Putin would attack Ukraine to get back at NATO? That would start a war, don't you think?
