National Rally leader Marine Le Pen continues to dominate the field of prospective presidential candidates to replace Emmanuel Macron in next year’s critical election, which is set to define French and European politics for years to come.
With just eight months left before voters in France head to the polls to select their next president, a survey conducted by Elabe has found that three-time presidential candidate Marine Le Pen is on course for a historic victory, besting all current opponents in both rounds of voting.
Depending on the composition of the first round, the pollster predicted that the National Rally leader would garner between 34 and 35.5 per cent of the votes, being bolstered by one in five former Républicain voters defecting to her cause.
In a distant second place, former Macronist prime minister and current Mayor of Le Havre, Edouard Philippe, is projected to secure 17 to 20.5 per cent of first-round votes. Meanwhile, fellow former Macron prime minister Gabriel Attal has seen his support slide over the past month down to 12 to 12.5 per cent.

Hope she has good security.
They will never allow her to take power in a million years. The EU/WEF is far too powerful. They’ll probably find some way to toss her back in jail, and it’ll wind up being some other cookie-cutter globalist socialist, irrespective of what the people actually vote for. It always is.
Hopeful that some of the French people have finally woken up. But will the entrenched traitorous Elite permit her to govern any better than the entrenched Elite’s permitted President Trump to govern, clean up the corruption, and restore civil liberties in USA?

when all the media propaganda, slurs, lawfare, blackmail and covert action fail - they resort to assassination.
Some good news out of France for a change.
But it’s not such good news for the French Deep State. And as you noted, they have a big bag of tricks to make Le Pen stumble and fall.
Here’s something interesting. In the UK, minority parties can often band together to keep the popular vote winner from gaining power. But in France there’s a runoff election if no one gains a majority of the votes.
That’s got to help Le Pen.

Yep. But she’ll need more than just that. There a dozen ways the French Deep State could discredit her. And they’ll probably try every one.
But, hey. Trump went against all the odds and won in 2016. So I guess you never can tell.
Maybe the wild card is how secure the French voting system is. Perhaps a French FReeper could comment on that.

To fix the state she would have to do some impossibly difficult things; raise the retirement age, cut down on social welfare payments, change the labor laws, change the tax system, etc. If offered the presidency of France, I’d immigrate somewhere else and let the whole thing collapse, as it eventually must.

In the years right before the French Revolution, some members of the French upper class predicted trouble ahead. But they did nothing to try to prevent it.
Either they didn’t think it would be so bad, or they’d be dead and gone before it happened. How wrong they were.

So she is losing, eventually.
Seen this movie before. One of her two “opponents” will garner more support than the other in the first round. Then, come second round, the “opponents” unite and miraculously rally to victory.
Kinda reminds me of how ranked choice cheating works here.
