Key Points

Meta and a coalition of state attorneys general have settled a major federal case centering on allegations that the social media giant misrepresented the extent of child-related mental health harms caused by apps like Facebook and Instagram.

The case, brought by a group of 29 states, was co-led by California Attorney General Rob Bonta and the AGs from Colorado, New Jersey and Kentucky.

As part of the settlement, Meta agreed to pay a maximum of $16.7 billion.

It's not enough, it should be much much more and Zuckerberg should be jailed.

One or two weirdo loser kids with negligent parents does something crazy after marathon sessions on a Meta ap because of parental cluelessness and no supervision.

Our courts immediately focus on THIS, create some Bill of Attainder pseudocrime, and prosecute Meta (which I hate BTW) to the tune of 17 billion USD (equivalent to maybe 10,000 such wrongful deaths of children). It all preoccupies the soccer mom/ AWFL / beta male mindset for days and more. They are all pleased with the outcome which involves ten times more Big Brother intrusion into our lives.

BUT,

Ten million criminal hostile Communist, Moose Limb, Chinese, Cannibal, Chollo, prison-flushed murderous rapist thieving drunk-driving Rat-voting job-stealing military aged illegal aliens (along with their trafficked wimmen and children) walk in to our open-borders nation and are given everything they need, then hidden into our woodwork, dispersed into the US, targeting especially where Whitey lives quietly and peacefully in the countryside, minding his own business and believing in the Almighty.

Every plea to the courts to stop this invasion is ignored, every order to deport is blocked, and crazy illegal non-concepts like Sanctuary Cities become a legally accepted monument, as if it were a Constitutional Amendment.

Think about it.

Yeah, our court system is in freefall if not already collapsed. Or as the Communists would say, "Mission Accomplished".

$16 billion of hyper-pure medical fraud.

Thousands of totally corrupt lawyers, politicians, therapists, parents, and children, are now multi-millionaires.

Laugh Out Loud - the trial court and jury were in Oakland, CA!

Zuckerberg is a complete lowlife scum, but this is nothing but a shakedown. Now that the states have their cash the whole thing will be forgotten, back to business as usual.

The only bright spot is Zuckerberg having to cough up $17 billion to avoid testifying. Nobody actually harmed will see a penny of it. Newscum and his ilk will make it disappear into their own lifestyles.

The AG’s claimed that endless scrolling on a web page is addictive?

Are you kidding me? Nearly every website has that feature. Youtube, Rumble, WhatsApp, News aggregators, etc. I don’t understand how that is addicting. It just saves you from having to click a button to proceed.

Re: "The only bright spot is Zuckerberg having to cough up $17 billion to avoid testifying."

Zuckerberg owns just 13% of the stock.

He owns 60% of the voting shares, however.

I'm no fan of The Zuck, but this case is BS.

Not every bad choice is an "addiction.

This is just taxation by another name, with a lawyer payday thrown in.

Meta’s total stock capitalization is about $2 trillion. Zuckerberg’s 13% would be worth close to 260 billion. This settlement won’t break him.

Nobody actually harmed will see a penny of it.

True. If they see anything it will be pennies - as compared to the spawn of US law schools who will become significantly wealthier. As long as lawyers have no limits on what they can charge or receive these types of suits nothing will change.

Now, prohibit your product from use in that jurisdiction and run ads there explaining why and who is to blame. Same thing oil companies should do with idiotic Global Warming suits they lose.

Yes. This was a ”friendly” lawsuit. Nothing but money laundering.
