I love the Administration's attitude of "that sounds like a you problem" regarding illegal aliens problems.

“ age 18, was issued a final order of removal by an immigration judge in 2017 after failing to appear at a hearing, according to the DHS.”

Sounds like the headline is ‘wife of active duty deported after failing to comply by the rules’

People can think Honduras is insignificant but this chick is married to active duty military she needs to follow the rules. And if she doesn’t she and her dope of a husband are out of luck

It’s not so simple. This is a citizen in our military. There is a program to let his wife remain, which they applied for.
Yes she had violated even before she met him. But at this point he’s a soldier that’s his wife and usually we let them stay rather than disrupt his ability to serve.
Sure you can deport her but she is hardly the target group.

I agree, rules are rules. FReepers historically never the full article. We are grandfathered in and are forgiven.

People try to make a point that active duty are owed the favor and tge benefit of the doubt to harbor foreigners, illegals, who subsequently disobey orders

No.

Active duty have many privileges. They have many responsibilities as well. Contrary to leftist opinion it isn’t and never will be a social program

Illegals, foreigners who take illegal advantage of our service programs are one thing.

Military is different. Rules and regs. You and your familiy don’t want to abide, you’re gone

There are military secrets to protect

President Trump, beginning his second term, got all of the leakers out of the press corps

There are no leaks. What we knew about Venezuela was nothing. No American casualties. Iran- similar

Other entities are being purged.

Watch

This girl didn’t show up for report for what reason? She has a child. She’s not interested in remaining with her family? Why

Her husband’s CO is following this. He has some idea why she’s not showing up. Whatever it is. But she and the husband have been well informed, along with his CO, who would have no reason to step in and vouch for her. He has other things to do, she’s a nuisance at tge very least

When one’s active duty husband gets deployed the family presents for to do tasks. On time. With all documents. Period. You’re not even a citizen or are a citizen by marriage and you don’t show up?

No. That’s not how this works, to paraphrase Brandon Gill

Sounds like she had plenty of time to resolve this and fight it in court but did what most do and skip hearings. When you do that, it makes you look lazy and makes it obvious that you’re taking the easy route. If you want asylum, you go to your hearings.

Marriage alone can’t fix that. If you have a final removal order on you before your wedding, it’s not nullified.

"This girl didn't show up for report for what reason? She has a child. She's not interested in remaining with her family? Why"

The dirtiest legal move IMO is service (being served of legal filings, hearing, motions, and rulings).

Both sides (IMO) are horribly abusive of claiming to have provided service (in this case the government) or dodging service (possibly in this case the respondent/applicant).

I have come to not trust the US legal leviathan (mostly federally but not entirely) for basically anything,

The idea of entering a judgement for deportation in absentia is repugnant without ironclad proof of notice and service and then you can make the arguement in this case the mom chose not to attend the hearing.
I believe without that you simply now hold the hearing if she if eligible and worthy grant her the stay of visa, if she is not then rule denying her status and begin deportation proceedings but the thought that 10 years ago they ruled she was not at the hearing thus was in violation, without consideration of the merits of her claim and ordered her removed and now 10 years later deported still without an honest hearing is as abusive as any banana republic shenanigans that were visited upon President Trump during Russiagate or any of the abuses from the New York state proceedings or the US Attorneys in Florida and DC.

The bottom line is get it right even if it takes a little longer than to fail repeatedly, just because our side might be seemingly in charge at this time right is right and us taking shortcuts and abusing power is not any more forgivable than a few years ago when the FBI and more were out of control.

If she needed to be deported then dot the T's and cross the I's and deport her, but if everything is not beyond reproach fix it and then proceed.

The second thing after the birthright citizenship executive order (which they screwed up btw) when the President was sworn in this time should have been doubling or tripling the number of immigration judge's to clear the years long back log.

I apologize for the long rant but (imo) everytime there is a story like this we bleed a few votes here and a few votes there and the example is the Texas Senate race.
There has not been a statewide elected position that a democrat has won in thirty plus years in Texas. Well we're a week or so short of Labor Day and this Talarico guy is going to make a race of it.
El Paso is hugely Democrat, but the military certainly leans more to the right and Republican but on Fort Bliss which sits right in the middle of town, how do you think this is going to play?

Again sorry for the rant and apologies for the crazy run on sentences, just tired of all the self inflicted missteps.

I assume the Supreme Court ruling on birthright citizenship.

The father has a choice to make; reunite the family outside of the US or continue the process here.

Also, if the criminal heeded judgment perhaps the child would not have been born here. Since the laws have not changed and our govt failure to enforce them does not mean they can be broken - seems they rolled the dice in this situation to hope and pray SOMEONE does not enforce the law.

I suspect we're not getting the whole scoop in the story. The orriginal order was not delt with and to many imigrants procrastinate filing there papers and paying fees.

So you come down on the side of ‘as long as I can keep hiding from and avoiding the authorities, crime is legal’?

She entered in 2016 as an adult, by 2017 she was already given and order to be deported, in May of 2022 they went for an exemption, “supposedly” found out she had the deport order, got refused and then did nothing after and now in 2026 it all caught up with her.

You never bother to ask what in this story from the rabidly TDS guardian are they not telling us.

You know is has long been stated in trump 2.0 if you are here illegally just leave you get a free pass and can then try to come here legally. Had she had left and THEN tried to re-enter under the military spouse exemption she VERY LIKELY would have been granted it.

This story is nothing more than a false appeal to emotion which some FRs are foolish enough to swallow, this is an adult issue that requires some critical thinking, those who can’t need to leave such decisions to adults, feelings have no place in this scenario.
