The high court lifted an injunction that had blocked the order in 23 states that challenged it after the administration appealed in July.
The U.S. Postal Service and Justice Department said they would immediately implement the revised mail-ballot restrictions after the ruling.
Most immediately, the ruling clears the path for the U.S. Postal Service to check its distribution of mail-in ballots against a list of citizens maintained by the Department of Homeland Security. But it’s also a significant political victory for the Trump administration as it has advocated against the widespread use of mail-in-voting, citing what it believes is a heightened vulnerability to tampering and voter fraud.

Hooray, Mr. President.
“Fewer”...
[Ballots are integers]
Hallelujah.
The Democrats will likely appeal the ruling to Judge Boasberg (pronounced Bias Berg) who will overrule the Supreme Court.
The fact that mail in voting even happened here shows what a sad (terrifying) state this country is struggling to recover from.
How to police the “mail-in” ballots that were manufactured and never in the USPS system?

The Post Office and DHS will now be able to check to see if a state like California is sending a ballot to a non-citizen.
Will the Blue States immediately start removed non-citizens from their Voter Registration Rolls?

Barcodes on the envelope and ballot going out, and barcodes on the ballot coming in to ensure a 1:1 match.
There will be many ballots that don’t go through the Post Office, like those in the drop boxes in government buildings, etc. It’s not at all clear how those will be policed, outside of the barcode confirmation when they go through the counting machines.
Excellent news.

Doubtful, but you know there will be a blizzard of lawsuits the moment one properly registered citizen of the United States is denied the right to cast a vote.
Just given the numbers involved, you’d expect a 1-2% variance rate, which would be around 2 million voters.
Those votes will have to somehow be amended, cured, reviewed, or similar by people and hands. We won’t have final counts for weeks.
YEEEEEEESSSS!!! It is about time. I want to see arrests, convictions and imprisonment for previous mail-in ballot fraud!!!
Another district court judge will issue another moratorium in 3...2..1
Cuffs, perpwalks, released mugshots. If EVEN TRUMP refuses/can't get EVEN THIS LEVEL of justice for WE THE PEOPLE, the republic is dead.
The beltway bigwigs who like to mock the justice wing went too far this time.
71 days.
They are mailed out in traceable barcoded envelopes even though they might be dropped in a box. It’s all about the origin database of approved people at certified addresses. That’s the nature of the NCOA system. It’s a perfect application for vote verification, and it’s already part of the USPS system.
Absentee ballots should only be for the convenience of our military and government workers overseas. If a private citizen can seek out a government drop box, then can freekin go to the polls. If they are on vacation, they should be able to spot a mailbox more easily than a drop box. It’s postage-free, I believe. President Trump must put out an EO that says “Only ballots with USPS barcodes are acceptable”.
Appeal a SCOTUS 6-3 ruling to some crazy district judge?
On what planet?
