The United States Postal Service (USPS) has released a new rule adding verification requirements to all mail-in ballots.
These changes will not go into effect until the court lifts its current injunction. The mail service said the changes would occur immediately if given the go-ahead.
Under the proposed change, states would be required to collect and report basic voter information, like a voter's name and home address, attached to a unique barcode on every mail-in ballot distributed.
State election authorities would then be required to input this information into a "federal ballot mail portal" before the ballot is accepted into the mail stream.
The USPS said it would not deliver ballots to any state not in compliance with these changes.
The move comes after months of attempts by the administration to collect voter information in the name of election integrity. Some experts are concerned that consolidation of that information into federal hands undermines the Constitution's system of state-run elections.
"If the administration can determine who is American enough to register to vote, who can prove it sufficiently, then they would have a lot of power to shape the electorate," said Jonathan Diaz, director of voting advocacy for the bipartisan nonprofit Campaign Legal Center.
The new requirements fall short of demands from President Donald Trump, whose March executive order on mail-in ballots would have established statewide voter citizenship lists from Social Security or immigration databases, established uniform ballots, and had the USPS "coordinate with the USPS Office of Inspector General and the Department of Justice for investigation of suspected unlawful use of the mail involving Federal election materials."

The Judgies need a swift kick in the arse and advised to lift this injunction.
Shut down the Post Office. It does nothing, anyway and functions at the control of the Executive. States are “punting” to have the Post Office run their elections.
“Judges?? We don’t need no stinkin’ Judges!”
Since when has a democRAT/DemoKKKrat cared about what any Judge has ruled?
Rules, regulations, laws and statutes are for “others.”
No, the judges need to be reminded not to intervene in the Executive Branch and to go to hell.
Shut down the Post Office. It does nothing, anyway and functions at the control of the Executive.
If this hold it will be the knock out punch we need to save ourselves from thw New Axis of Evil Democrats communinists and Muslims who all hate God America us and REALITY. If this holds Surrender Monkeys can go fishing until after Election Day or pick up a new hobby besides trying to tamp down Republican enthusiasm.

Nope. Keep it.
I’ve had to deal with foreign post offices. Sometimes NOT fun.
Yeah we have problems but we have it pretty good.
She has become emblematic of the Dems tricky road to electoral victory.
the judge needs to be replaced, an injunction against lawful federal elections is unconscionable partisanship on the bench
and interference with the validity of the election process

The Sovereignty Clause has already decided the US Postal mail-in ballot policy in Trump's favor imo.
Article I, Section 8, Clause 7: To establish Post Offices and post Roads; It is one of a few government agencies explicitly authorized by the Constitution of the United States. (non-FR)
Article VI, Clause 2: This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding.
How can judges reject the policy without violating their oaths to protect and defend the Constitution?
β bipartisan nonprofit β
Sure.
It does not have a snowball’s chance of surviving in court. This is big overreach into what is a state’s purview.
It does plenty. (Some questionable, I admit) Not only that it is established via the Constitution.
I assume that was a rhetorical question.
They do it all the time.
These changes will not go into effect until the court lifts its current injunction.β
Thatβs what matters. The mail in is a dream come true for the rats. it was βtemporaryβ because of covid and now we stuck with it and it is a license to steal.
Where I live in the suburbs north of Philadelphia, the postal workers all look like filthy cheating Democrats.
Not to run state elections!
Disable this Federal function.
