Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-GA) insists he has “zero interest” in running for president in 2028, but a growing corner of the Democratic internet is acting as though he may not get the final say.
The Georgia Democrat’s national profile has surged in recent weeks as clips of his increasingly combative attacks on President Donald Trump rack up attention online, fueling comparisons to former President Barack Obama and speculation that another relatively young senator could make a rapid leap from Capitol Hill to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
That attention reached another level after Ossoff took an unusually personal swipe at Trump during a campaign rally Sunday.
“He doesn’t want to do the job,” Ossoff said of Trump’s presidential responsibilities. “He wants to build his ballroom and travel with Natalie [Harp] on their apparently defenseless flying palace gifted by the emir of Qatar.”
Trump soon fired back, mocking Ossoff’s appearance and comparing the senator to the television character Pee-wee Herman.
The exchange underscored part of what has made Ossoff increasingly appealing to some Democrats online: a willingness to confront Trump directly at a moment when the party is searching for leaders capable of effectively countering the president.

Wow. This is a nepo-baby trustfundian with no real resume, and people are talking President?

The idea of Ossoff being competitive for the Dems tells us how desperate they are. The young lefties who would be his constituency are antisemitic. He’s being used as the anti-Trump attack dog precisely because he is not a viable candidate for POTUS in 2028 or otherwise.
The way they are going, I expect the dimrats to purge all Jewish politicians. All the while calling anyone who disagrees with them, Nazis.

We need to settle down and we’ll soon be able to get to serious work without the drama. Trump is rough around the edges, a necessary trait at this time as too many on the our side turn the other cheek. The left has never had to deal with a fighter and they should be beaten to a pulp by the time Trump leaves office. The sharp elbows will not be needed AS MUCH.

Incredible. Georgia resident here, and when we saw an ad for Ossoff the other night, husband said - so, there he is…. Literally, the FIRST time we have seen video of him since he was selected. We do see proof of life of Warnock now and again, but Ossoff? Never.
How can a first term Senator who never says Anything, be a hopeful for POTUS?!
