A hearing on the merits of a recall petition filed against Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson is scheduled for Aug. 31 in King County Superior Court as a new poll showed a majority of voters want her to leave office.
The 9 a.m hearing before Judge Patrick Oishi was scheduled Wednesday after the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office reviewed the petition by a North Seattle couple, Melinda Jacobson and Dale Osterud, and forwarded it to the Superior Court.
The Prosecuting Attorney's Office review is the first step in the review process.

The real problem is that Seattle has been and is a demoncRAT-run city. Whether Katie Wilson stays or leaves won’t do a darn thing. Just another Wilson-type will replace the current Wilson.

One interesting thing: I’ve never heard of a state having recall laws that call for a first-stage judicial determination on the sufficiency of the petition. I think what we have in CA is typical: if you get enough signatures, the petition gets set for election. Recall is an exercise of the citizens’ sovereign authority. Having a judge decide if the citizenry gets to do so just seems really odd

Here’s the part I find interesting with this. These voters who presumably want her out for what she’s done voted for her when she said she was gonna do just what she’s doing. It’s not She was stealth candidate.
It’s kind of like yeah she said she was a socialist and yeah I voted for her because I wanted a socialist, but I didn’t know We were actually going to get a socialist, an incompetent one.

I heard someone who understood the process say that the judge will throw this out because the recall process requires her to be guilty of very specific things, and while she’s incompetent, she’s not done any of the illegal things. So, out it goes.
I hope she gets thrown out as well, but like the rest of the commenters here, I agree that they’ll just replace her with some other idiot.
Our Alaska cruise started out of Seattle during the World Cup. The bus driver said the mayor moved as many homeless that the could to another city otherwise she said we’d see them all over downtown.
