In an unexpected turn of events, Vindman — the odious little man who became the Left’s favorite Trump impeachment witness — went down in flames Tuesday night, losing Florida’s Democrat Senate primary to progressive state Rep. Angie Nixon. Decision Desk HQ currently has Nixon's margin of victory at 55.74 percent to Vindman's 44.26 percent.

A member of the Democratic Socialists of America and the Working Families Party, she owns Cafe Resistance, a Jacksonville bookstore. Her campaign has centered on affordability, wages and working-class voters, and she has said that on her first day in office she would file legislation to reinstate the enhanced Affordable Care Act subsidies that expired at the end of 2025. Florida leads the nation in ACA marketplace enrollment and also has one of the highest state counts of uninsured people in the country.”
You do Vindman’s opponent, Angie Nixon, an injustice. She is not a mere socialist hack but is also an angry black woman best known for yelling through a megaphone on the floor of the Florida House to protest the imminent passage of a GOP redistricting measure. In sum, the woman is a loon with considerable appeal to the temperamentally unhinged element of the Democratic base.

Israel was a major point of contrast and contention during Alex Vindman’s 2026 Democratic primary campaign since it involves billion and billions of tax dollars, party politics, Congressional activity and major US State Dept policy issues.
Vindman framed himself as a supporter of Israel, criticized elements within the Democrat party for crossing into antisemitism when criticizing Israel, and faced pushback for not supporting a complete military cutoff for the Democrat party failing to label Israeli actions in Gaza as genocide.
Angie Nixon’s position as a member of the Democratic Socialists of America, centered her campaign heavily on Palestinian rights, advocating for ceasefires, and openly criticizing Israel’s US tax-funded military actions.
Nixon scored a major upset over Vindman (considered the establishment favorite and fundraising leader), by securing the Democratic nomination.
The sharp policy divide over Israel served as a primary flashpoint illustrating the broader ideological friction within the Democratic Party between moderate/establishment candidates and the burgeoning progressive wing.
Vindman is a stalwart supporter of Israel. Among the fissures that developed between Nixon and Vindman is the anti-Israel Democratic Socialists of America.
On other social media, I convert their party’s name to “Socialist-Democrat” Party.
