It has a Cook Partisan Voting Index (PVI) of roughly D+20 to D+22, making it the most Democratic district in Florida

A Republican isn’t winning this district because it’s a democrat district with too high of a margin to overcome.
Nope.
It has been represented by Democrats for decades (most recently Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick until her resignation in April 2026). The seat is currently vacant, but it remains a safe Democratic seat.
