"A short term social experiment"
Polls were always a debatable proposition, but lately, like everything in politics, they’ve gotten worse. The Dem primary polls promising big wins by Hong and El-Sayed in Wisconsin and Michigan were, as the actual races showed, exercises in voter suppression.
Now the company behind at least one of them got caught and is admitting to having put out a fake poll.
Pollsters had been caught before, but the company made the mistake was putting out a poll showing a wide lead for the less socialist candidate in the LA race. Had the poll promised a wide lead for Nithya Raman, who ‘somehow’ scored most of the late arriving ballots despite nobody in the city having heard of her, the LA Times would have cheerfully reported the results.

Another thing that only happens in the mind of your local right-wing conspiracy theorist.
Sum Ting Wong.
Right....
Lol
The old fake poll story. More like creating a distraction to hide a fart.
So who was the pollster?!!!
Fuk Hong Poll.
Is this an example of I all the time statement?
Propaganda.
...disguised as a social experiment.
Should be charged with election interference
Didn’t some guy get thrown in jail for “influencing an election” over a clear joke about Hillary — and another over a joke about the election being on Wednesday (not Tues)?
No similar “justice” here, of course.
Then every pollster should be charged the same because they’re ALL fake. This one just admitted it out loud.
Okay.
I’m down with that
I would give 10-1 odds that this so-called “experiment” came out of a polymarket/kalshi/etc betting play.
I know lots of folks would prefer a deeper, partisan conspiracy — but I’ve been looking at the money flowing through these “bet anything” apps and even - can’t talk about it ;-) - correlating to some digital/social media spikes.
And just like old school bookies don’t really care about who wins; just setting the line to maximize the house take (including balancing the downside)?
Like I said.... 10-1 odds - joke intended - this was just naked betting market manipulation.
Charge them with election interference. They intentionally misled the public in an attempt to influence elections. The old everyone wants to be on the winning side scam.
What’s the solution for citizens when their govt turns into a bunch of whackjobs who cheated their way into office?
I wonder if the SC could find anything in the Constitution that covers that? Yes, I’m being a bit facetious, but I also think I’m making a valid point.
……Or the polls were accurate and the “democratic “party changed the actual votes.
The actual crime is the near 100% of the late votes going to her, after she conceded to Platner.
Correct. A fake poll had to be created to make the election cheating seem somewhat plausible. It doesn’t matter if the fake poll gets exposed, as long as enough time passes to have the election certified.
