His reason for doing it was an argument for not doing it.
We don’t need two or three Dem states or cities to control the US.
What’s the Turtle’s opinion on this? Oh, wait need to find a Ouija board.
It isn’t so much that abolishing the electoral college is wrong. But, when small states were admitted to the Union, part of the agreement was that they would have two Senators, regardless of their population. If the electoral college is abolished, then the original agreement with regard to the state’s admission should be regarded as null and avoid; and that state should be given the right to leave the Union. The left wants to abolish the electoral college but insist that less populous states be required to remain and be under the control of the left.
The EC is not a big deal with me. The fact that Rhode Island gets the same number of Senators as my state is my major gripe.
“””The EC is not a big deal with me. The fact that Rhode Island gets the same number of Senators as my state is my major gripe.”””
The Senators are there to represent the State. Representatives are there to represent the people.
BeShear shouldn’t be allowed near the Presidency. Too many radical Dem Governors.
Beshear is running for POTUS, he’s slowing rolling out his positions to align with the leftwing lunatics in his party.
This is one of the positions on his list that needs to be checked off, look for something anti-Israel soon, perhaps followed by an anti-ICE position.
Which other “checks and balances” does Beshear want to wreck? The Dems obviously hate the Constitution because it stops their lust for dictatorship and slavery. How about they all just leave and destroy someplace else.
It’s time to abolish the likes and ilk of Gov. Beshear...spit.
Don’t they understand that we are a federation of states?
Why not just have New York City, Chicago, and Los Angeles pick the next president?
That sure would save a lot of fuss.
The Founders preferred that a president have wide support. But those guys just didn’t understand the many advantages of mob rule.
🤔
Pretty big porta potty disguised as a tent.
A LOT they don’t understand. Or leave out of the discussion.
“He also wants to elect more democrats to put an end to gun violence.” If the Dems are so successful at ending gun violence, why are Dem controlled places like DC, NYC, Chicago, Philadelphia continuing to be violent? Trusting that the past weekend was a safe one for those who went to the shooting ranges or trap or skeet clubs or other places to lawfully use firearms.
You want to take away state power? If you read the history of how and why states were given power in our constitution you may change your mind.
They wish.
If the Dems were looking at a long stretch of controlling the electoral college you can be sure they would be constructionist. But the math doesn’t work in their favor. It will be a generation before it swings their way again.
Unless the GOP effs it up. (And based on history—they will.)
Democrats always the same: Can’t win the honest game so they work to rig the rules in their favor.
