~The FReeper Canteen Presents~ Road Trip: Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada
Nellis Air Force Base is a United States Air Force installation in southern Nevada with military schools and more squadrons than any other USAF base. Nellis hosts air combat exercises such as Exercise Red Flag and close air support exercises such as Green Flag-West flown in "Military Operations Area (MOA) airspace", associated with the nearby Nevada Test and Training Range (NTTR). The base also has the Combined Air and Space Operations Center-Nellis.

The U.S. Air Force Warfare Center is headquartered at Nellis Air Force Base and reports directly to the Air Combat Command. The USAFWC ensures deployed forces are well trained and well equipped to conduct integrated combat operations. The USAFWC is comprised of approximately 13,000 personnel, active duty, guard, reserve and civilians.
The Nellis Air Force Base Complex is a group of southern Nevada military areas that are predominantly USAF and Bureau of Land Management areas outside of the base (e.g., controlled by military units at Nellis). The complex's land areas include Nellis AFB, the USAF Nevada Test and Training Range, the active portion of the Small Arms Range Annex north ofthe base, the annex's Formerly Used Defense Site of 5,775 acres, 13 BLM areas of 5.7 acres each leased for Patriot Radar/Communications Exercises, and other BLM sites "under Military Operations Area (MOA) airspace".
Nellis AFB also leases space at the former Las Vegas AFS, and environmental sites of the Tonopah Bombing Range (FUDS) are monitored by the EPA. Additional Formerly Used Defense Sites associated with the area's military operations are the Nye County Areas A, G, H, & I; the "Delamar Dry Lake Test Annex" and the "Sunrise Mountain Machine Gun Range".

Do they have much to do with Area 51? They’re not far away.

Hi there, lauren! (((hugs)))
You’re very welcome. Hope the heat has backed off a tiny bit there like it has here....for a while anyway. No triple-digits this week that I know of.

Good evening decal.
Apparently not, though they are connected. Area 51 is a classified remote detachment located within the massive, multi-million-acre Nevada Test and Training Range, which is administered by Nellis Air Force Base. But, Area 51 is a detachment of Edwards Air Force Base.

Howdy, lauren.
I hope I’m not too late to catch you tnight. Didn’t get in from mowing until 8:00 and had to slap a quick supper together.
I hope all’s well with you. Managing to still cool in the crazy heat down there?

Well, though I’m sure it’s only temporary, and it’s still darn hot...it’s NOT as hot as 104. Hope yours does cool of a bit soon! Whoof!

Hey there, radu!
I sure do feel more rested. Had a nice nap, too, so that’s even better.
How was it there? Did you get more mowing done?

Howdy radu!
Sounds like you had a busy evening! I think I’d rather swallow a bug than mow. Admire your determination.
Hope you can relax a bit now. I have a big day tomorrow, it’s our annual Volunteer Awards Banquet in the evening and still have lots to do.
Have a good week!

Good weekend, always have fun with the boy.
Actually I'm giving the Ms PacMan video game to my daughter and her husband as a late house-warming gift, they just have to come and pick it up.
Hope all is well your way.

Slept late and got a good nap. Made ya feel like a new woman, I’ll bet. LOL
It was hot and sunny here and that got me out on Champ later than I’d planned. Didn’t get quite as much done as I’d hoped to but still got a good chunk done. Gonna have to force myself out there earlier tomorrow in order to finish before it rains.
