This is all a huge argument for repeal of the 17th Amendment!
The senator represents the state as an institution. The people are represented by the congresscritter through the congressional districts. I seriously doubt the Michigan state legislature would even waste 2 minutes considering this guy!
Repeal the 17th Amendment!
Return the states to their proper role!
