Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska said Friday she will vote against Todd Blanche’s nomination to be attorney general, narrowing his chances at Senate confirmation for the role.
With Sen. Mitch McConnell absent and all Democrats expected to vote against the confirmation, Blanche cannot afford to lose any more Republican votes. The nomination now hinges on how Sen. Bill Cassidy, one of the most prominent GOP critics of President Donald Trump, will vote.
Maine Sen. Susan Collins, who’s facing a competitive reelection, has already announced she’ll vote against Blanche.

Murkowski is not a Republican. She’s married to an outspoken Democrat and votes like a moderate Democrat herself. She lost her last GOP primary but as I understand it, she was able to run in the general election anyway due to Alaska’s ranked-choice voting system. I have no idea why she chooses to caucus with the Republicans, but McConnell indulged her and apparently Thune does too.
Ranked Choice Voting is entirely a Leftist construct, designed to keep Democrats in power.
I doubt it.

President Donald Trump's former personal lawyer Todd Blanche was set for confirmation Friday as US attorney general after Senate Republicans shrugged off Democratic concerns over politicization of the Justice Department.
Cassidy has said he would vote for Blanche. This is indicative of how Mitch McConnell operated as Senate R leader - he poured millions into supporting Murkowski when she ran as an independent after she lost the primary. She hasn’t been good for a single close vote since then.

Murkowski is disgusting.
President Trump needs to give her a very serious talking-to. More likely, she is taking this stand to get some type of personal pork, ostensibly to benefit Alaska but actually to line her pocket.
Ugly is, as ugly does. And Murkowski is the champeen ugly.
Mitch and the boys helped ranked choice stay in place when there was a referendum to kill it.
