LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A 20-year-old woman has been sentenced to a minimum of five years in prison after pleading guilty to an involuntary manslaughter charge in the shooting death of a photographer.

Allysandra “Ally” Blea was charged in the Aug. 23, 2025, death of 23-year-old friend Mark Gaughan. A kidnapping charge that was part of her plea deal carries a mandatory five-year prison sentence, but Blea will get credit for serving nearly a year in the Clark County Detention Center.

Blea will also have to pay about $16,000 in restitution, according to court records.

Gaughan died during a photo shoot on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2025. Police received a 911 call about an accidental shooting in a northwest valley neighborhood near Washington Avenue and Decatur Boulevard. He was photographing two women, and they told police that a gun — reportedly belonging to Gaughan — accidentally went off.

Blea told police the group was drinking before Gaughan started taking photos.

Photos the 8 News Now Investigators obtained showed the two women handling the gun, and detectives reported that she had “almost an obsession” with guns and wanting to shoot someone.

Texts reviewed by a Clark County grand jury were described as important in the criminal case against Blea.

“In several conversations with various accounts, there was talk about her love of shooting guns, owning guns, building her arsenal and shooting people in the face,” detectives said. “There were several photographs of Allysandra holding various firearms (handguns, revolvers and rifles) in different poses to include the firearm pressed against her head, against stuffed animals’ heads and shooting bottles at an unknown location.

In one conversation, Blea reportedly said: “I had a dream I shot someone in the face last night with my revolver because he was pointing a Glock at me… But then I went to prison.”
