President Trump’s handpicked congressional candidate lost his primary to someone who dropped out weeks ago.
Amir Hassan, a veteran and self-proclaimed “America First Patriot,” was touted by Trump as the preferred GOP choice to represent Michigan’s 8th district in the House of Representatives.
“Amir Hassan has my Complete and Total Endorsement to be the next Representative from Michigan’s 8th Congressional District,” Trump posted on Truth Social Monday. “Election Day is Tuesday, August 4th. GET OUT AND VOTE FOR AMIR—HE WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!”
Voters didn’t agree, as Hassan lost handily to Thomas Smith by over 10,000 votes, securing just 33.2 percent to Smith’s 50.4 percent. Yet despite his name being on the ballot, Smith had dropped out of the race last month and ceased all campaigning, The Detroit News reported.

So Smith is back in?
So virtually everyone else he endorses wins, but one lower-level race one of them doesn’t and Trump and the headline is that the President has been “humiliated”?
The writers of this absurd headline are who should feel “humiliated.”
Kristen McDonald Rivet (Democratic Party) is a member of the U.S. House, representing Michigan’s 8th Congressional District. She has $4,254,099 cash on hand.She won in 2024 51% to 44% with 4 other candidates taking the other 5%.
Maybe Thomas J. Smith can give her run for her money. Amir Hassan was not going to beat her in this mostly rural distrct.

I think Trump was 38 and 1 in his endorsements this cycle.
That has “humiliation” written all over it.

All his enemies make me want to support him more.
‘Trump Humiliated’
You know, the problem really isn’t totally with the little kids that write these headlines and stories....it’s really a problem with the editors and controlling management figures that are willing to sacrifice any perception of professionalism.
They cannot be referred to as news agencies.
James won’t win just like Hassan. Democrats are ok with a Muslim in Michigan. Not so sure the Republican base is. James just loses in Michigan almost yearly so that’s an easy call.
Those of you in Michigan, what are James chances of winning?
The rat SOS is running for Governor. Same set up as that thieving bitch Hobbs had in AZ. She will count the votes for her own election and James is a loser statewide. Not much hope here.
