Former GOP Sen. Jeff Flake backs Jon Ossoff, saying ‘character matters’
Atlanta Journal Constitution ^ | 8/4/26 | Greg Bluestein

U.S. Sen. Jon Ossoff picked up a high-profile endorsement Tuesday from former U.S. Sen. Jeff Flake, an Arizona Republican whose clashes with President Donald Trump prompted him to back other prominent Democrats.

Flake said he still disagrees with Ossoff on key policy issues. But in an interview with The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, he said character outweighed those partisan differences.

“I’m still a conservative Republican. But character matters. And I want someone in that seat who takes the institution seriously and will protect the institution,” Flake said.

Just like Richard Lugar endorsed Michelle Nunn, and John Warner endorsed Mark Warner, etc.

In the future, we'll see Thom Tillis, Bill Cassidy and John Cornyn endorsing Democrats too...to "protect the institution"

So predictable and pathetic.

We've come a long way since the Jeff Flake's of the world dominated the US Senate. There's some left and a lot of them are up for reelection in 2028. Expect many retirements. Their days are over.

The Senate was always going to be the last bastion of the RINOs.

Ossoff is a trustfundian twerp with a video camera who made “documentaries” that weren’t worth a damn. That’s his resume. He is in the Senate because of election fraud.

““I’m still a conservative Republican. But character matters. And I want someone in that seat who takes the institution seriously and will protect the institution,” Flake said.”

I guess protecting the country isn’t a concern for him...and he doesn’t give a shit about what he’s doing to his 5 kids.

Ossoff will win because Collins is that bad.

Quality candidates matter, GOP.

If character mattered to the Democrats Bill Clinton would never have been picked as a candidate.

Instead, the Democrat voters wanted to know what kind of underwear he wore.

“The Senate was always going to be the last bastion of the RINOs.”

Yeah, because McConnell was hand-picking all the candidates since the late 90’s.

But now not so much. He can’t even speak and is probably dead.

I wish Flake was back in office so we could remove him again.

Flake was a AZ infiltrator.
He only decided NOT to run as his approval was 18%.

Flake represented himself as a tea party candidate. He was a liar then. He doesn’t know anything about character.

I lived in Georgia. I live in Arizona. The endorsement means zilch or less than zilch to the voters in Georgia.
