Pulte boasts about dramatic ODNI cuts as he nears the end of his time at the agency

Just hours before his successor is expected to be confirmed by the Senate, acting Director of National Intelligence Bill Pulte on Tuesday announced what appear to be sweeping staff reductions at the embattled intelligence coordination hub.

“Good News! In addition to the Historic DECLASSIFICATIONS (Transparency!) by the President, we are, this morning, Executing a 5th and Near Final Round of TERMINATIONS, an approximately 30% Staff Reduction from Weeks Ago,” Pulte posted on his social media account Tuesday morning. “The Intelligence Community must protect the American people, NOT the political whims of the bloated and corrupt elite class.”

Pulte’s announcement of a 30 percent cut, depending on the baseline for when the dismissals started, could amount to the elimination of more than 300 staff at the ODNI, which is charged with coordinating intelligence collected by the other 17 members of the U.S. spy community and overseeing their budgets. It comes the same day the Senate is expected to vote on his full-time replacement, current top Manhattan federal prosecutor Jay Clayton, as the next head of the ODNI.

Thank you very much and God bless you.

30% less DEMOCRATS at ODNI (because that's what they were!)

This man should be made Acting Director of one agency after another, purging the government of insidious rot.

Great news! (until Boasberg gives them their jobs back, anyway)

The Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004 established the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) as an independent agency to assist the DNI. The ODNI’s goal is to effectively integrate foreign, military and domestic intelligence in defense of the homeland and of United States interests abroad. The ODNI has about 1,750 employees. Its headquarters are in McLean, Virginia.

Can’t say I’m impressed with their conduct to date. Sounds like a place for the deep state to hatch some more skulduggery.

Tulsi kept them on and Pulte fired them? I hope it was people on a list she gave him, hopefully Warners favorites escorted out and Pulte just accomplishing Claxton’s dirty work before he arrives since that die is cast.

IIRC from other articles on this topic, these “reductions” simply mean that most of these persons will move from ODNI back to their original agency - CIA, NSA, DIA, etc. Very few will actually lose their meal ticket. The main thing that is being accomplished is a reduction in the size of ODNI since it is nearly impossible to dislodge a government employee after their first year on the payroll.

If someone has alternative information, I’d be glad to read it as I’m working from memory & have not done a search for specific articles.
