~The FReeper Canteen Presents~ Road Trip: Creech Air Force Base, Nevada
Creech Air Force Base is a United States Air Force (USAF) command and control facility in Clark County, Nevada used "to engage in daily Overseas Contingency Operations of remotely piloted aircraft systems which fly missions across the globe." In addition to an airport, the military installation has the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Battlelab, associated aerial warfare ground equipment, and unmanned aerial vehicles of the type used in Afghanistan and Iraq. Creech is the aerial training site for the USAF Thunderbirds and "is one of two emergency divert airfields" for the Nevada Test and Training Range.

The MQ-9 Reaper is an armed, multi-mission, medium-altitude, long-endurance remotely piloted aircraft that is employed primarily against dynamic execution targets and secondarily as an intelligence collection asset. Given its significant loiter time, wide-range sensors, multi-mode communications suite, and precision weapons -- it provides a unique capability to perform strike, coordination, and reconnaissance against high-value, fleeting, and time-sensitive targets.
Present-day Creech AFB serves as the main operating base of the 432d Wing and 432d Air Expeditionary Wing. With a 3,000-strong workforce, it sustains around-the-clock overseas contingency operations against global terrorism.
The Joint Unmanned Aircraft Systems Center of Excellence (JUAS COE) is a multi service unit of the United States Armed Forces based at Creech Air Force Base.
The Center of Excellence is designed to improve interoperability and use, and examines the use of sensors and intelligence collection assets to meet joint operational requirements of U.S. forces in any combat environment. The COE is an operationally focused organization concentrating on UAV systems technology, joint concepts, training, tactics, and procedural solutions to the warfighters’ needs.
The Army was initially lead the Joint UAV COE with the Air Force as deputy. These positions will rotate among the four military services. The center has representatives from all four military services and other DOD and non-DOD agencies

Very good! Hope it keeps humming along. Mine conked out a few weeks ago but was fortunately a quick, easy fix.
Come on, cool front! Cool TX off!
We have one coming through tomorrow night, they say, that will back us off into upper 80s. Tomorrow is going to be a rough one, though, and no fun for sitting outside all day. Today was bad enough. I’ll be so glad when early voting ends this weekend and I can stay home!

Hi luvie! If Boston happens, I will go in September. Kiddos are also talking about me spending the month of December in Asheville, so we will see what comes of all our plans. Who knows, LOL!
Yep, summer can just be over, like now. I wish!
Hope you have a terrific week!
*HUGS*
To: radu
Very great of you to do the early voting thing! And I’m sure you’ll enjoy your time at home when it’s all done. YAY!
To: laurenmarlowe
Oooo...you will no doubt be able to see some of the beautiful fall color they have up there. I hope that the trip happens for you. Also, hope you can see the others in Asheville for Christmas. That would be perfect!
You have a good week, too. Don’t work too hard. :)

One of the first of the drone operations bases was U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) headquartered at MacDill AFB, FL. I know them better as a DPST member and they used us for recon and to detect downed aircraft and NBC.
Creech is overseen by Air Combat Command (ACC). Creech organizes, trains, and equips combat-ready Airmen. They operate fighter, reconnaissance, and electronic-combat aircraft, and manage cyber warfare and inland search-and-rescue operations across the contiguous United States.
But Creech has been bsusy many ways. The have remotely piloted aircraft (RPAs), handling the majority of global MQ-9 Reaper missions. Additionally, it serves as the aerial training site for the USAF Thunderbirds and an emergency divert facility for the Nevada Test and Training Range.

Hey there, radu!
Yes, I felt much better after getting to sleep as long as I wanted to. And even better after my nap this afternoon. Now I'm looking forward to watching some shows.
It must have been miserable in that tent today. Thank goodness for your chest full of ice! Hope you got a nice Arby's shake afterward to reward yourself!

If I was smart, AND able to get up at the crack of dawn, I’d be a poll worker. They’re inside and that building is kept VERY cool.
I’m outside at a tent with the Republican women’s group. That tends to be rough this time of year.
