American Special Operations forces are waiting in the wings to launch the “most sophisticated operation in military history” to seize Iran’s enriched uranium from heavily fortified nuclear sites.
“I hate to say it, but I think the most likely way to get rid of Iran’s nuclear material, at least what they currently have, is a military operation because the negotiations aren’t going anywhere fast,” said Joseph Rodgers, deputy director of the Center for Strategic and International Studies.
The deeply complex operation would involve thousands of ground troops storming Iran’s nuclear facilities — navigating boobytraps, utilizing construction crews, and maintaining a large defensive blocking force surrounding the sites — a source familiar with military planning told The Post on Friday.

If they haven’t it done already, if the Iranians have any brains they will booby-trap all their heavy equipment on site.
It’s good that we are broadcasting our super top secret plans to the enemy.
I would think a “low yield” nuke would take care of the problem, and dissuade the regime from trying to salvage what-ever remains.

I doubt the Iranians didn’t consider such obvious possibility.

And just bury the uranium. Sure, they (or US special forces) could get to it. But that would take a lot of digging. And for the US special forces, also a lot of casualties.
I’m hoping this story is just more misdirection.

I also tend to believe this is part of an intel op.
It doesn’t mean they won’t do it, but there’s probably a reason for us reading about it now.
History doesn't repeat, but rhymes. Another failed Operation Eagle Claw would be disastrous. Interesting of note, the Sec of State at the time was named Vance.

It's a big country, and to cut off resupply from Pakistan or Russia entails a long flight. Losing the use of those bases in Saudi Arabia (for example) inhibits refueling B-52s for that bombing run. Don't know what the plan is there.
The U.S. has been mulling taking the uranium since forever.
And the Iranians have been mulling it too.
Nothing has changed in the last few days; nothing that we know for sure.
Just more mulling; more pondering.
Hopefully, articles like this will force the Iranian military to spread out and prepare to defend every square foot of their big country 24/7; they can never sleep a wink because the Big Devil can attack anywhere at any time and everwhere at once.
