STERLING, Va. (7News) — Federal immigration agents say a truck that crashed into a Virginia townhome during an enforcement operation was occupied by people who fled as officers were trying to make an arrest.

The crash happened around 6:46 a.m. July 22 in the 900 block of Sherwood Court in Sterling.

In a statement on Thursday, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said officers were having a targeted enforcement operation to arrest what the agency described as a "criminal illegal alien."

According to ICE, officers tried to pull over a truck occupied by someone matching the description of the target. The driver and passenger allegedly hopped out without putting the truck in park, causing it to roll down a hill and crash into a nearby home.

ICE said the person it was trying to nab has a criminal history that includes DUI, drug possession, property damage, robbery, possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools, fraud, shoplifting, and violating a court order.

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office previously told 7News it was not notified about the federal operation in advance and was not involved.

“ICE claims” - the phrasing is intentional. Disney using the word “claims” as they always do to throw in doubt.

Why should ICE contact Loudoun County sheriff’s office? The office may have given the illegals a heads up.

The Loudoun County sheriff is a good guy, but the Commonwealth Attorney, although better than the last one, is pretty soft and aligns with Gov. Spamburger’s order prohibiting state agencies from cooperating with ICE.

Even after the DoJ arrested several gang members, MS-13 and 18th Street gangs are still a big presence there, and the psycho, murder-fixated Commonwealth Attorney General hasn’t done a thing about it.

More ICE, please!
