NEWS: Elon Musk rejects the far right label in an exchange with The Economist
"I support the normal people. What you call the far right, falsely."
He challenged the interviewer to say what is extreme about 3 positions.
"Here are the principles and tell me which of these sound terrible. That we should have secure borders, that we should have safe cities, that we should have sensible spending. Which of those three are far right fringe?"
Elon then turned on the framing itself.
"I would like to just admonish you and the media for the absurd characterization of the far right. It is false and misleading and nonsense."
He asked that the exchange survive the edit. "Please keep this part in."
Elon said the same speeches get judged by who delivered them, describing a habit of reading Obama and Clinton speeches to people and telling them Trump said it. He named Rupert Lowe as an example of who he means by normal people.

I like Elon more and more. He takes these bastards head on unlike our gutless politicians who run and hide instead of confronting them!!
GO ELON!
Oh, and I’m buying a Tesla next month!
“”Here are the principles and tell me which of these sound terrible. That we should have secure borders, that we should have safe cities, that we should have sensible spending. Which of those three are far right fringe?””
I would add, men can’t get pregnant, little kids should not be castrated and boob-o-tized at the altar of delusionals, merit should be the determining factor in a job, not the color of your skin or what’s between you legs, and I’m sure there are several more.
He’s not wrong.
Musk is the best thing that’s happened to America for decades!
Without Musk America would not still be leading the Space industry.
And free speech would probably be dead, killed off by the Democrats.
You know who Elon reminds me of? George Schultz. Hint hint, Marco.
And to think at one time The Economist was an excellent magazine.
Yup.
I used to subscribe to it.
For 20 years.
Then they went nuts.
Now I wouldn’t touch it with a barge pole.
Ok, fair enough. But the three he mentioned are of more near-term, urgent, practical importance, less susceptible to being dragged into endless philosophical, revolving-door, death-by-a-thousand-cuts, academic faculty lounge BS arguments.
The Economist...recently published an article arguing for more government spending/entitlements. America is on the brink of financial collapse from debt, and they want more spending. They have the nerve to pretend they are economists. THEY should be the ones ringing the alarm bell (for decades) about the out of control debt.
Now they are calling Musk Far Right. They are dishonorable, phony, leftist activists masquerading as a reputable financial voice.
He was a great Secretary of State...then he got ripped off by Elizabeth Holmes after retiring.
I agree.
Trump and Musk has been a blessing for America.
Ok, but he got bedazzled by an attractive female. When he was in his 90s. I don't think he would have fallen for her manipulation tactics thirty years earlier.
The resemblance I was thinking of was in the way both Musk and Schultz had of a remarkable degree of mental clarity, of being able to identify the priorities communicate them with perfect fidelity and impressive clarity. Combining a Spock-like logical mind backed by a powerful, simmering passion.
Musk has never been Right Wing. The far Left is so far to the left that everyone in the middle appears “far right” to them and to the mainstream media that publicly defines it.
Yes I subscribed to it from the mid 70’s to the mid 90’s and read it from cover-to-cover. Like you I stopped.
This is great.
Been saying this for years.
There are normal people, and there is the left.
I subscribed to it for years to read unbiased news financial articles etc. Back in the 80s it started going left and today if full retard left. When it went left I went, "I am out of here."
The economist is leftist drivel, has been at least my entire adult life...
TO them believing biology dictates your sex is right wing extremism.
