A federal appeals court has blocked the Trump administration from ending the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) of the approximately 350,000 Haitians living in the United States, CBS News reports.
As News Center 7 previously reported, TPS was set to end on Friday. The new ruling extends it to Monday, July 27.
TPS allows people from countries affected by war, natural disasters, or other major crises to legally live and work in the U.S.
The U.S. Supreme Court ruled last month that the Trump Administration could end TPS for Haitians.

hasnt the US SC already ruled on this so how can an appeals court make such a decision?
Who the hell authorized the Feral skank and scum Judgies the authority to run America’s immigration racket? They have no standing. Their asses should be in prison. ALL OF THEM!
Ignore it, the SCOTUS has ruled on this.
The trouble with this fraudulent immigrant racket is the SCROTUM Court gives the freeloading TPS bass turds the time to pump out a couple "copyright" anchor babies as a way of becoming permanent U.S. Citizens.
“Some federal judges need removed from the bench and disbarred.” I agree. But evidently House Speaker Mike Johnson (Mr. Peepers) does not agree.
350,000 sounds like a small army. Give them each 1 plane ride with an inflight viewing of The Patriot, 1 AR, 2 magazines, a copy of the US Declaration of Independence, a copy of the US Constitution and directions to the HQ of their ‘oppressors’.
We have many enemies within. Get these radical black robed backstabbing traitors off the bench. We didn’t elect them to run our country.
What the heck?
1. SCOTUS ruled June 2026 that the Trump Administration could end TPS for Haitians.
2. A federal appeals court blocks the Trump administration from ending the TPS for 350k Haitians
Who is in charge here?
Definitely not the Trump administration or Republicans.
I assume most new agencies have a hot key defined to enter the phrase “A federal appeals court has blocked the Trump administration from”.

NO EXCEPTIONS WHATSOEVER.
I’ll bet it’s the world enslavement forum.
Exactly!
The TPS is on surface great law, and who would not give some earthquake or hurricane victims a shelter?
However these people, once allowed in, would never leave!
If they came in, stay for few months, and leave, I would support them 100%.
But these Haitians are here since, I believe, 2010!
They really overstated their welcome.
That is the hack that the left has figured out. The way to get a right affirmed is via SCOTUS. There are no repercussions for judges “getting it wrong” (even on purpose). So they get it wrong, and you are stuck in the judicial branch until SCOTUS reviews it in a year. Rinse and repeat forever. Unless the Executive branch is willing to affirm it’s own rights this will continue. That is the one thing I really think Trump has gotten wrong and that is to defer to the Judiciary on everything. How is that Separate but equal? The Executive should affirm it’s own rights and continue the implementation of any and all policies until SCOTUS explicitly says the right does not exists. Flip it from the current posture.
hahaha. They’ll come in for a few months, have a baby and now they are American Citizens. Words have no meaning these days.
So much for binding precedent and the doctrine of vertical stare decisis.
