Will someone post a photo of Hillary wearing her Mao jacket?
Not that I am one to contribute to the delinquency of posters by mentioning it. Sorry.
y’all be wearing this soon
Or Jane Fonda in a NVA anti-air craft gun station. There is lots to pick from with these children.
More memories to try to forget about.
Just like Che Guevara’s face in a previous generation, these simplistic fools have turned Mao’s image into a generic marketing slogan, targeting even more ignorant fools.
Ugh. 26 years ago.
A couple of chins and a whole lot of tire tread wrinkles ago.
One item that symbolizes Communist image making to me was when young men under water secretly held up Mao as he “swam” showing the powerful, robust muscular energy of the Chairman. As American college students watched the TV clips.
He’s not a good Communist. YET
Relax. Everyone will get a uniform.
RE: “...uncovering many embarrassing details of history and politics which, even years later, remain somewhat sensitive.”
Something that is actually proven true despite the myths and phoniness of Mao:
He is one of the most evil killers in world history.
One case:
Professors were dressed in grotesque clothes and dunce caps, their faces smeared with ink. They were then forced to get down on all fours and bark like dogs. Some were beaten to death, some even eaten—all for the promulgation of Maoism. A reluctant Mao finally called in the Red Army to put down the marauding Red Guards when they began attacking Communist Party members, but not before 1 million Chinese died.
During the Great Leap Forward (1958–1962), a failed industrialization and collectivization campaign that caused the deadliest famine in human history, resulting in an estimated 15 to 55 million deaths from starvation, disease, and forced labor. Detailed historical accounts—such as Frank Dikötter’s study of the period—cite at least 45 million unnecessary deaths during these years, exacerbated by extreme state grain requisitioning.
Another:
...from the 1950s through the 1980s, 50 million Chinese passed through the Chinese version of the Soviet gulag. Twenty million died as a result of the primitive living conditions and 14-hour work days.
Another: Impossible to estimate millions who were killed for opposing Mao.
