Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) is extremely upset after being detained in the West Bank by armed Israeli settlers. This incident took place last Wednesday, but Khanna and The New York Times chose to report on it Saturday. Why Khanna was even there is another question. The 2028 election is still a long way off, and this soft launch was, frankly, awkward.
The stunt got nuked by Israeli Ambassador Dr. Michael Leiter, who cooked Khanna’s stunt on CBS’ Face the Nation yesterday. Additionally, the California liberal was in a restricted military zone where civilians were not allowed. Lastly, Khanna refused to meet with survivors of the October 7 attacks or attend a briefing on the security issues facing Israel at the border. Nick Arama at RedState has more:
As we noted, the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) disputed Khanna's claim that they were involved in any "detention" of Khanna's group, and said they helped resolve the situation when they arrived. The Israeli police also said that this was a "closed military zone" (CMZ) area where civilians weren't allowed.

Leiter explained how they reached out to Khanna when they found out he was coming, offering to have him meet with survivors of the October 7 attack, as well as see the issues Israel had to deal with at the borders. Leiter said Khanna blew them off. "He ignored that, and he decided to coordinate his trip, not with Israel, but with Palestinian activists," Leiter declared. Maybe this wouldn't have happened had he coordinated with the Israeli government, Leiter asserted.

There is a whole bunch more to this story that has already been reported. It wasn’t a bunch of rando settlers. It was one guy with an M4. He was security. The IDF was called. When they got there the issue was cleaned up and the lying ba$tard was released.
Ro Khanna made up facts and embellished his story to grab headlines. Had he followed the law and protocols, there would be no story.

What I don’t like is the cage match between the 2 sides go on for 4 quarters like it does in football. Then in the end it comes down to a November an unsure field goal every 2-4 years to determine who was ‘right’. A sickening wait while 4 years of Biden plus 2 more of the democrat socialists shooting off their mouths pass and we all sit and pray others on our side show up to vote.
I don’t have an answer as it works better than any other system. More fight on our side is the answer. Perhaps the Lindsey Graham speech at the Kavanaugh hearings will serve as a motivator.

He was not DETAINED. He was not allowed to proceed into a restricted zone without permission. He could have turned around and gone back. Does anyone know the definition of the word detained?

On the contrary. I was illustrating how STUPID your contention was.
It's amazing how many lies are in simple language. There is no "west bank." This area was called Judea (and Samaria) for all of history until 1948-50.
And the only "settlers" on this historically Jewish land are the Jordanian Arabs and their descendants who invaded, occupied and colonized it, kicking tens of thousands of Jewish families out of there and "east" Jerusalem (another fake place) until 1967, when Israel took it back from them.
The other false term is "Palestinian," which - before 1964 referred mainly to Jews - but with a KGB operation, became used to refer to the Jordanian (and Egyptian) Arab invaders, to pretend they were somehow indigenous.
Sadly, it is the Israel Left that made these lies true by adopting the language of their enemies.
Palis should have massacred the whole gang. Problems solved.
