I am on the email list of my Democrat Congressman Vindman. I got an email today which begins:
It now takes 100 days to get a primary care appointment at the Fredericksburg Veteran Affairs (VA) Health Care Center. That is unacceptable.I regularly hear from veterans across my district who are struggling to get the care they need because of staffing shortages and unacceptable delays at this care center.
Our veterans served our nation with honor. They deserve a VA health care system that is fully staffed, responsive, transparent, and accountable — and they should never have to wait 100 days to receive the care they have earned.
I want to hear from you: have you or a veteran in your life experienced delays or challenges getting care through the VA? Take my survey here.
So I asked Copilot and Genesis AI's if that was true.
Copilot:
I couldn't find any authoritative source showing that the Fredericksburg VA Health Care Center currently has a 100‑day wait for primary care appointments. The VA publishes appointment access data and specifically directs veterans to its Access to Care site for facility wait times.More broadly, the VA has reported reductions in average primary care wait times in recent years, although wait times can vary significantly by facility and provider availability.
Genesis:
Genesis first said that there have been reports of 100 day waits. But the source turned out to be Vindman's X account!
It is now a 100 DAY wait to get a primary health care appointment at the Fredericksburg VA Health Care Center.
That is completely unacceptable. Our veterans served this country with honor, and they deserve a VA that is fully staffed, transparent, and accountable.
I’m leading…— Congressman Eugene Vindman (@RepVindman) July 1, 2026
So I asked Genesis whether there were any specific reports from veterans about a 100 day wait time. This was the answer:
The 100-day wait time statistic for the Fredericksburg VA Health Care Center has been heavily cited by politicians, but there are no publicly published, specific personal accounts from an individual veteran documenting a 100-day primary care wait at this location.
So, Vindman's claim that "It now takes 100 days to get a primary care appointment at the Fredericksburg Veteran Affairs (VA) Health Care Center" is a disgusting fabrication.

I would bet every single Democrat recipient of the email does not even question this garbage.
Is not using the mail to perpetrate a fraud a felony.
It’s an email, not US mail.
I do a lot of community care from my VA.
I am a Democrat and I am really torn on this one. On the one hand, the veteran deserves good healthcare, just as we all do. On the other hand, he or she served a brutal, murderous, thieving, capitalist enslaving regime that I hate from the bottom of my soul. So, on that basis, the veteran deserves to die of hunger and thirst. Oh my, what’s a Democrat to do??
My Primary Care appointments are every six months. So....
“He’s right you know”
Too bad. POS belongs in jail anyway.
I won’t argue that point.
I go to the Lebanon VA Medical Center. One of the best in the country. Had a minor problem, not an emergency. Our VAMC does not have urgent care, so they told me to go to Penn Medical urgent care. No cost, and then got an appointment with my PCP in a couple of days. Sounds like Vindman is trying to start trouble like he usually does.
Hey, when that roof fell on my Kevlar making sure my two soldiers got out before it collapsed I’m pretty sure there weren’t any “brutal, murderous, thieving, capitalist enslaving regime [members]” under there.
You clearly prioritize political identity and affiliation above the welfare of people, soldiers’ obligations and their duties. Hopefully you’re just drunk.
It is what they do. They claim there is a problem when there is not. Then they pass a bill to solve a problem the does not exist. After bill passes and just before election, they remind us they passed a bill to solve a problem.
Vindman ugh I almost forgot about sniveling little scumbag.
Vindman is such a moron. He’s going to create a problem and thinks he can then fix it. That kind of crap is going to make people quit in Fredericksburg and then there really will be 100 day waits. His plan won’t work and people will suffer because of his stupid stunt.
He doesn’t think he can fix anything. He’s just trying to create an election year narrative. His X post ends with “I’m leading…”
There are some good ones, my local VA here in North Georgia is fine but my primary is Atlanta and I refuse to go. One is it’s to far and two, everytime I’m asked I say “You’re rated in the top 10 worst VA medical facilities in the US and have been for years, that’s why”. I have great insurance to cover the wife so I use that vice Atlanta plus it’ll take 2 to 3 months to get them to sign off on community care so F’ Atlanta VA.
The VA has problems and seeing the same primary care doctor twice, and seeing her twice in the same year, is one of them, at least for me.
“So, Vindman’s claim that “It now takes 100 days to get a primary care appointment at the Fredericksburg Veteran Affairs (VA) Health Care Center” is a disgusting fabrication.”
It’s a BS lie for every region in the VA.
If they can’t get you in in 30 days for routine care, they have to refer you out to “Community Care” and service by your local GP.
Yes, there are some good VAs and some bad ones. The Lebanon VAMC is one of the highest-rated veteran healthcare facilities in the nation. It has consistently achieved top-tier national rankings, including the highest 5-star quality rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). I volunteer at the Lebanon VAMC, and I can see the respect the staff has for the Veterans. I too have private medical insurance from my job, but the VA treats me better than the civilian medical facilities. And the VA is less than 10 minutes away.
....well I will chime in...I just got back from Ft Benning, the Atlanta VA specialists were overbooked.....an hour 20 minute drive down to Colombus... but I was examined in a timely manner.
My primary physician wants to see me every 6 months. That’s a 180 day wait.
