Iran Claims It Attacked US Military, Risking Ceasefire
Daily Caller ^ | June 27, 2026 | Ireland Owens Reporter

ran claimed Saturday it conducted strikes against U.S. military targets in the Middle East following the U.S.’s recent retaliatory strikes around the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said they targeted positions linked to the U.S. military while the regime’s foreign ministry alleged the U.S. had violated the ceasefire agreement between the two countries, CNN reported Saturday morning, citing Iranian state media outlet Press TV. The U.S. military has yet to confirm any military strikes, according to the outlet. The nation of Bahrain, which hosts the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet, later reported having been targeted by an Iranian drone strike.

The move comes after U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed in an article posted Friday that U.S. forces “conducted strikes against Iran, June 26, as a powerful response to yesterday’s attack on a commercial ship that was transiting the Strait of Hormuz.”

Neither CENTCOM nor the White House immediately responded to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s requests for comment.

The U.K. Maritime Trade Operations said Saturday that a tanker located “within the Strait of Hormuz” had “reported being struck by an unidentified projectile, adding that, while the “vessel sustained damage to their bridge,” “all crew are reported safe.”

President Donald Trump on Friday accused Iran of violating the ceasefire agreement between the countries.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran shot at least four One Way Attack Drones at Ships transversing the Strait of Hormuz,” the president wrote in a Truth Social post. “One of the Drones solidly hit the upper deck of a large and very expensive Cargo Carrying Ship. Damage was done, but the Ship was able to proceed on its way. We knocked down three other Drones.”

“Obviously, this is a foolish violation of our Ceasefire Agreement,” Trump added.

Vice President JD Vance likewise wrote in an X post on Friday that “Iran signed a ceasefire agreement,” adding that the U.S. has “honored it.”

“If they have disagreements about how the MOU is being applied, they can pick up the phone,” Vance continued. “But violence will be met with violence.”

There is absolutely no reason to continue discussing ANYTHING with this regime. It’s pointless. We should give very strong concise ultimatums, and demand compliance.

1. You will give up ALL enriched uranium, permanently dismantle all enrichment facilities, and formally agree to never seek nuclear weapons either from domestic production or attaining them from other nations, proxies, or organizations of any sort.
2 You will cease ALL funding of terrorism and Iranian proxies - permanently.
3. You will NOT attempt to control any shipping in or around the Strait of Hormuz in any way.
4. You will NOT attack (or support attacks by proxies) ANY sovereign nation, either in your region or anywhere else in the world.
5. You will agree to civilian government control of Iran, and establish separation of religion and state - in perpetuity.
6. You will not attempt to produce or obtain by any means weapon system that can be used to attack shipping or neighboring nations.

In return, you will receive zero compensation and zero reparations for military actions that were made necessary by your belligerence and aggression. You will acknowledge that the US has been generous in not demanding compensation from Iran for US lives lost and the military costs that the US had to endure because of the aggressive and illegal actions of the Iranian Islamic Republic.

If you do not voluntarily comply with the above, you acknowledge that you will be forced to comply - by military action, with costs of this action paid for by Iran.

It’s like those 2020 ‘peaceful protest’ reports with the burning buildings in the background.

The world was saying how Trump offered too much. 300 billion to these guys?!?!? They can do anything now with that money. The IRGC , ever the strategists, thought the better path was to attack a few civilian ships. Rational actors? Imagine these guys with the capacity for nuclear blackmail. Better stop them now because when it’s too late with these guys it’s really going to be too late.

First, the $300 Billion Fund is described as a Reconstruction and Development Fund comprised of new private capital from investors in the U.S., Gulf Arab states, Asia, South America, and Africa, rather than unlocked Iranian funds. NOT from US taxpayers.
Frozen Assets: A separate component of the deal involves releasing approximately $24 billion to $30 billion in Iranian sovereign assets that were previously frozen in foreign banking systems.

Second, it was not to be released unless and until Iran fulfilled certain obligations under the MOU. And then only small amounts at a time.

Third, The US has no control of it, the finance ministers of the various countries and private investors do.

It seems to me that they stand to benefit their country a lot if they just give a little. It would be rational to move on from this chapter. They don’t strike me as pragmatic. This is them with two 4s in their hand. Imagine they had a full house (a nuke). Forget it.

I suspect that we've "removed" so many layers of leadership that there are individual warlords with fingers on different buttons.

The folks the administration negotiated with are probably those that the administration has hand picked as Iran's future leaders.

The people of Iran need to be freed.
