• Nuclear monitoring: US Vice President JD Vance touted Sunday as a “very, very good day” of negotiations between the US and Iran and denied that bombastic statements from President Donald Trump upended negotiations. In what he described as a “major milestone,” Vance said Tehran has agreed to admit nuclear monitors into the country.
• Waiver for Iranian oil sales: The vice president today also described an initiative for unfreezing Iranian assets that would grant the US approval over what Tehran can purchase using the money. And the US Treasury today issued a 60-day waiver on the sale of Iranian oil, following through on one of the key commitments.
• Lebanon conflict: As for the clashes between Iran-backed Hezbollah and Israel in southern Lebanon, Vance said the talks were still a “work in progress.” An Israeli source said Israel is considering announcing “symbolic” withdrawals from minor areas in southern Lebanon.

Where are they allowed to go once they get through customs?
We've had monitors in the country before. I fear once Trump's term ends, there will be no repercussions for a denied site inspection, especially those surprise ones that aren't scheduled a month in advance at a non-clandestine site.
Vance would garner more respect and credibility if he just stuck to his original objections to this war and did not do contortions to prove that he is a “team player”. He could and should have done more for his country.
Nevertrumpers have to nevertrump.
The game is in the first quarter and you declare victory. Other than having their navy, air force, air defenses, weapons manufacturing, and top leaders including the Ayatoilet destroyed, they won. Oh, and Custer won too.
Opening the Strait is all that matters at this point and then negotiate the rest later.
There is no “final settlement” yet.
Trump is doing a good job. Iran is no longer a threat. China and Russia are likely to lose clout with Iran.
The Iranian Theocracy is going to have a difficult time staying in power.
Will they be in power six months from now? A year from now. Impossible to know at this point.
Seems to me that we pretty much own Iran at this point. They have no freedom of action and can’t move or sell anything without our sufferance.

I hate the loose use of the term "boots on the ground", because those boots have feet in them that belong to our countrymen, who you propose to send into hostile territory without a whole lot by way of a plan.
Gas pump prices must drop before the Midterm elections I realize Netanyahu has his election soon as well but President Trump needs to win the Midterms.
One can see this is the pathway forward.

There are some wanting to diss and hate on Vance, who Trump sent to do this job. They use snapshots and make up their own interpretations of that moment etc. It is rather slimy.
Would you rather he be like Pence and stab the man who put him in his position in the back?

So we’re working on a concept of a deal.
Vance has to put it out there that he’s gonna be a whole lot tougher if he ends up the next POTUS. Thomas Jefferson met with them in 1787 and knew he’d have to go to war with them someday.
It’s such a bad deal. It has to be a cover for something else.
Perhaps the plan is to use these 60 days to quietly get a ground invasion in place.
Blame Iran for the failure of the talks and then the USA and Israel take over the country and remove the regime.
