With allowance for "dark" transits (which shouldn't be needed at all if things were normal), the chart at 2:56 shows the actual state of things.

No different than shops paying dirty cops to not get raided or robbed. Insurance = Protection racket.
At the end of the 60 day MOU period or some time following, Iran will take over administration of the strait, per the MOU. Technically Oman will have some say, but Oman has long been an Iranian puppet.

Trump and allies should set up a program where the strait is opened and the cost of ANY AND ALL damages inflicted upon shipping by Iran will be 100% covered by IRANIAN IMPOUNDED FUNDS. Let the Iran government explain THAT to the Iranian people.

So we fought this war to delay Iranian development of nuclear weapons, with the tradeoff being that they’ve gained control of the Strait of Hormuz? Who really believes this counts as a victory? A few simple bombing runs like in 2025 produced a much better result.

The mid-terms are distorting every move at this point

I know its most likely impossible but has there ever been any talk about blasting out a new route on west side or across the peninsular?

Take over the islands (Kharg, Qeshem and Hormuz etc) and the gulf. Leave no ambiguity to the enemedia about who won. We could win the first war since WWII!
Let the midterms sort themselves out. The craven RINOs deserve to sweat it out.

The mid-terms are distorting every move at this point. It seems rather obvious therefore the anti-MAGAs and the MSM Which heavily influences voters are running our foreign policies in a manner that is not in our best interests.

That is a really good idea, and could be legal actually, as a reparation payment similar to Germany. I hope someone is floating this to Trump.

No, Kharg Island hasn't been taken because it is a stupid idea. We already have - or had, until we gave it up - a blockade that achieves exactly the same function with little risk to US forces. Taking the island would simply result in Iran shutting off oil flow to the terminal, leading to the same result as the blockade.
Except that now US forces would be stationed in fixed positions on the island, and subject to near-range artillery and rocket attack from the mainland. That's what taking Kharg Island without taking the country is pointless and has not been pursued.

I believe they’re working on pipelines.

If they really close the straight and Oil shoots up again, than President Trump’s patch once may be exhausted, and it would be Hegseth time.

The difference is that half of the Strait of Hormuz is in Iran's territorial waters. The half that is in Oman's territorial waters should be none of Iran's business. The simpler solution is to just move the main channel to Oman's side, or dig a canal to bypass it.

Except that now US forces would be stationed in fixed positions on the island, and subject to near-range artillery and rocket attack from the mainland. And getting in and out of the Gulf would require running the gauntlet known as the Strait of Hormuz.
It would be a Dien Bien Phu, but surrounded by water.

The Antidote - A joint statement signed by every other Middle East nation, and the U.S., and every other nation receiving Middle East oil through the gulf, that declares the Strait of Hormuz an international body of water which no one nation can single handed put their own controls over. The U.S. pressure can be - keep your relations with us, or lose your relations with us. Any nation submitting to the Mullahs attempt to control the strait will lose their relations - all of them, with us.
