Baby Boomers will soon reach another milestone: In 2026, the oldest members of this generation will turn 80.
The Baby Boom generation refers to adults born between 01/01/1946 and 12/31/1964. The name reflects the sharp and prolonged increase in fertility that occurred in the wake of World War II.

(To have been born in January 1946 would require parents to have had sexual intercourse sometime around VE Day, May 9, 1945.)
Three weeks
Well at least TPTB have ensured the next big war will not be followed by another baby boom.
Too old?
They did that with the covid fake vaxes and frankenfood.
Kiddies now get over 80 poisonous injections into their little bodies. Who knows what all is really in them?
High School-1970. Teacher brought up SSI and how much it costs. One student blurted out: “Why don’t they shoot em?” Students were aghast. I calmly raised my hand and said “In defense of Dave who I’m sure was being facetious, it’s been done before. It’s called genocide. Getting rid of people who are in the way.”
I got a B in the class but deserved a D.
Proud post WWII (eleven) baby boomer here, I’ll be 75 next month 💪 🧑🦯➡️
the silent geration before us has mostly gone to old folks homes
There are enormous economic and social implications. As Boomers sell their homes to move into retirement centers or nursing homes and then die, there will be an enormous transfer of real estate and liquid assets to their children, who are mostly Millennials. This will be a big part of the economy in the 2030s.
As generations age, they tend to become more conservative. Remember that,50 years ago, GI Generation members decried the perceived leftism of the Boomers. However, a large number moved to the center and right during the age of Reagan. It looks like Gen X has made a similar migration, actually somewhat more conservative than their Boomer elders.
By the 2040s, the smaller Gen X will have largely replaced the Boomers in retirement communities and nursing homes. Their contingent is smaller than that of the Boomers, so the elder care industry will shrink accordingly. There will be good deals in places like The Villages in Florida and Del Webb senior living communities.
Boomers: Born on 3rd base and act like they hit a triple.
Since baby boomer “generation” is for those born from 1946 to 1964 entire groups of siblings can easily be - together - in the baby boomer “generation”. In our own family half the siblings are within the boomer generation and half in the generation before it.
On the edge of being a boomer. 11/1960 and wife is 08/1964. So now what?
These labels are retarded. What did they call people born before 1946? Depression babies or something? People are people, but society changes with technology. I guess I’m a Disco-Banana Seat-Skateboard baby.
It didn’t take but till post number 11 to turn this into a boomer bashing thread. I hope you’re proud.
Wait a minute, not so fast.
I’m a baby boomer, was born in 1948, and will turn 80 years old in 2028...
Yep. I will be 80 at the end of this year.
Boomers: Born into a world of the one bathroom home, widespread polio and measles, Jim Crow in the South, riots and assassinations, tens of thousands dead and wounded in Vietnam, soaring gas prices and persistent inflation, 17% mortgage rates, no seat belts, safe spaces or participation trophies, and only two sexes.
Gen X, Millennials, and Z: Born into a world of bitch bitch bitch.
The last of the Great Generations.
Losers: Envious of the accomplishments and wealth of others.
